Job summary

Swift Sensors in Austin, TX is seeking a detail-oriented Assembly Technician & Inventory Specialist to join our hands-on production team. You will perform soldering, cable assembly, and final QA on wireless sensors, and maintain organized inventory for on-time order fulfillment in our office.

The role requires 3+ years in electronics assembly, IPC certification is a plus, and experience with Fishbowl or QuickBooks Online.

Qualifications

  • Associate degree or equivalent in Electronic Engineering or Technology.
  • 3+ years of experience in electronics assembly, soldering, and instrumentation.
  • IPC certification is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Perform soldering, cable assembly, and final QA of sensors.
  • Maintain accurate stock levels and manage incoming/outgoing shipments.
  • Prepare daily outgoing orders and coordinate with shipping carriers.
  • Develop and follow SOPs for production and assembly of new products.
  • Support process improvements and keep work area organized and safe.

Job Description:

We are looking for a detail-oriented and dependable Assembly Technician & Inventory Specialist to join our team. In this hands-on role, you will be responsible for the daily assembly and quality checking of our wireless sensors, ensuring that outgoing orders are completed accurately and on time. You will also play a key role in maintaining organized inventory and supporting smooth day-to-day operations. This is a 5 day per week, in-office position in our Austin office.

Key Responsibilities:
Assembly & Production
  • Perform soldering, cable assembly, and hands-on assembly of wireless sensors and gateways as needed
  • Follow established assembly procedures and safety protocols
  • Develop standard operating procedures for production and assembly of new and updated products
  • Perform final quality assurance inspection of hardware products
Inventory Management
  • Monitor and maintain accurate stock levels of components, raw materials, and finished goods
  • Receive and organize incoming shipments; verify quantities and condition; perform quality control tests before stocking hardware
  • Flag low-stock items and coordinate with management to initiate reorders
  • Keep the workspace and storage areas clean, labeled, and well-organized
  • Prepare daily outgoing orders for shipment, including packaging and labeling
  • Coordinate with shipping carriers to ensure timely dispatch
  • Maintain accurate records of outbound shipments
  • Order and maintain materials needed for order processing and shipping (boxes, packing tape, etc.)
  • Proactively identify, document, and report process improvement opportunities encountered during daily logistics operations to enhance efficiency and accuracy
Qualifications:
  • Prior experience with soldering and/or electronics assembly; IPC-certified a plus
  • Familiarity with inventory management practices and tools; experience with Fishbowl and/or QuickBooks Online a plus
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively to meet daily targets
  • Good organizational skills and a proactive approach to problem-solving
  • Comfortable working in a small team or startup environment
  • Skilled with spreadsheets and other standard software applications
Education & Experience
  • Associate’s Degree or equivalent certification in Electronic Engineering or Technology
  • 3+ years of experience in electronics assembly, soldering, and instrumentation
