Job summary

Lehigh Heavy Forge Corporation is seeking an Assembly Technician to assemble, wire, and modify high/medium voltage assemblies and related sub-assemblies. You will follow detailed drawings, perform quality checks, and support engineering with development work.

Responsibilities include mounting electrical equipment, conducting wire operations, training teammates, and maintaining Kanban inventory while ensuring safety and cleanliness in a lean manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

  • Must have a high school diploma or GED equivalent from an accredited institution.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of manufacturing experience.
  • No relocation benefit; within 50 miles radius of Greenwood, SC; active duty military exempt.
  • Eaton will not sponsor immigration sponsorship or CPT/OPT/STEM OPT etc.

Responsibilities

  • Assemble, wire, and modify work per guidelines for medium/high voltage assemblies.
  • Follow manufacturing information, drawings, and instructions to established procedures.
  • Fill out ISO, quality, customer checklists and production lists as required.
  • Mount/install electrical equipment and perform wire operations.
  • Assemble and wire in complex assemblies beyond typical complexity.
  • Lift and assemble heavy copper parts as needed.
  • Maintain Kanban levels and report shortages to operators.
  • Inspect assemblies for loose hardware and cleanliness.
  • Respond to change notices and customer adjustments.
  • Assist engineering and drafting with development work; train colleagues.

Job description

What you'll do:

In the Assembly Technician role, you assemble, wire, and modify work based on specified guidelines in the manufacture of medium and high voltage, indoor and outdoor assemblies, breaker and auxiliary compartments, breakers, customer service orders, power modules, and any sub-assemblies associated with these.

  • Work to manufacturing information, electrical and mechanical drawings, sketches, written or oral instructions from supervision or Engineering to established procedures.
  • Fill out ISO checklists, quality checklists, customer checklists, feedback forms, and production lists for supervision, drafting, customer service, and engineering as required.
  • Mount and install electrical equipment and perform wire operations as needed.
  • Assemble, wire, and modify work in complicated assemblies above the typical complexity.
  • Perform routine lifting and assembly of heavy copper parts in production processes.
  • Maintain minimum levels of Kanban inventory and report shortages to appropriate operators.
  • Inspect all assemblies for loose or missing hardware and cleanliness.
  • Respond to change notices, customer requested adjustments, and development needs.
  • Assist engineering, drafting, and supervision with customer-initiated development work.
  • Able to effectively train and coach colleagues to ensure knowledge transfer and skill development.
Qualifications:
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Must have a high school diploma or GED equivalent from an accredited institution.
  • 'Must hav ea minimum of two (2) years of manufacturing experience
  • No relocation benefit is being offered for this position. Only candidates within a 50-mile radius of work location will be considered. Active Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Minimum of one year of manufacturing experience in an industrial manufacturing environment
  • Minimum of one year of experience using hand and air tools.
  • Strong experience in reading Manufacturing Information (MI)
  • South Carolina Manufacturing Certification (SCMC) or equivalent

  • Must be able to use standard computer programs such as Microsoft Outlook/Teams and job specific programs such as ENOVIA.

The employee is frequently required to walk; stoop; lift; carry; push; pull; and grip. The employee is frequently required to lift/carry up to 50 pounds. The employee is frequently required to push/pull up to or greater than 50 pounds. The employee may be required to use material handling equipment, including powered industrial vehicles. The vision requirements include far and close vision with depth perception and color discrimination. While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly required to listen and to talk.
