Job summary

Eaton in Greenwood, SC is seeking an Assembly Technician to assemble, wire, and modify components for medium and high voltage equipment, indoor and outdoor assemblies, breakers, and sub-assemblies.

You will follow manufacturing information, drawings, and supervision or engineering instructions, complete ISO and quality checklists, and assist with development and training. This role requires lifting up to 50 pounds and overtime as needed.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED from an accredited institution.
  • Minimum of two years of manufacturing experience.
  • Ability to read Manufacturing Information (MI) and drawings.
  • Experience with hand and air tools preferred.
  • SC Manufacturing Certification or equivalent preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assemble, wire, and modify assemblies per guidelines for medium/high voltage equipment.

Job description

What you’ll do:
  • In the Assembly Technician role, you assemble, wire, and modify work based on specified guidelines in the manufacture of medium and high voltage, indoor and outdoor assemblies, breaker and auxiliary compartments, breakers, customer service orders, power modules, and any sub-assemblies associated with these.
  • Work to manufacturing information, electrical and mechanical drawings, sketches, written or oral instructions from supervision or Engineering to established procedures.
  • Fill out ISO checklists, quality checklists, customer checklists, feedback forms, and production lists for supervision, drafting, customer service, and engineering as required.
  • Mount and install electrical equipment and perform wire operations as needed.
  • Assemble, wire, and modify work in complicated assemblies above the typical complexity.
  • Perform routine lifting and assembly of heavy copper parts in production processes.
  • Maintain minimum levels of Kanban inventory and report shortages to appropriate operators.
  • Inspect all assemblies for loose or missing hardware and cleanliness.
  • Respond to change notices, customer requested adjustments, and development needs.
  • Assist engineering, drafting, and supervision with customer-initiated development work.
  • Able to effectively train and coach colleagues to ensure knowledge transfer and skill development.
Qualifications:
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Must have a high school diploma or GED equivalent from an accredited institution.
  • 'Must hav ea minimum of two (2) years of manufacturing experience
  • No relocation benefit is being offered for this position. Only candidates within a 50-mile radius of work location will be considered. Active Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Minimum of one year of manufacturing experience in an industrial manufacturing environment
  • Minimum of one year of experience using hand and air tools.
  • Strong experience in reading Manufacturing Information (MI)
  • South Carolina Manufacturing Certification (SCMC) or equivalent
