Job summary

ACE Thermal Systems in Seminole, OK is seeking an Assembly Technician to build aircraft environmental control motors, blowers, and wiring assemblies. You will follow prints, use die cut, drill press, lathe, mill and sanders, perform in-process inspections, and ensure parts meet drawings and BOMs.

This on-site role requires reading schematics, safety compliance, and the ability to lift up to 100 lbs, with a Monday–Friday shift 6:45 am–3:15 pm and possible overtime.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• 2 years minimum in repair/manufacturing/production; A&P Certification completion may be used in lieu of experience.
• A&P Certification preferred; ISO or AS9100 procedures experience preferred.
• Ability to read schematics, prints, drawings, etc. for part assembly.
• Ability to safely operate equipment such as die cut, drill press, lathe, mill and sanders.
• Must work on-site in Seminole, OK facility 5 days a week.

Responsibilities

• Assemble motors, blowers, evaporators, condensers, and wiring assemblies.
• Verify work orders and clocked time are properly tracked.
• Cross reference BOMs to ensure correct parts and quantities.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings and EPS/PPP documents.
• Perform improvements and rework to meet requirements; escalate as needed.
• Perform tests per procedures and record results; troubleshoot if needed.

Position Summary

The Assembly Technician is the heart of the business. Your role is essential to getting critical aircraft off the ground. You will assemble aircraft environmental control motors, blowers, evaporators, condensers, and wiring assemblies for mission critical aircraft, including medical and police support. You’ll use hand tools, operate equipment, such as die cut, drill press, lathe, mill and sanders, and more, to assembly units, and perform in-process inspections. In additional you will…

• Perform work on motors, blowers, evaporators, condensers, and wiring assemblies.
• Ensures correct work order and clocked time is properly tracked.
• Verify warehouse pull contains correct parts and quantity and raise flag to cell lead or management if there are issues.
• Check drawing revisions to ensure part is produced to the right revision.
• Cross reference the Bill of Materials from the Print and Pick Ticket to ensure the units are assembled correctly using the correct parts.
• Read and interpret all engineering drawings and EPS/PPP documents.
• Gather tools and verify that they are calibrated and in good condition prior to starting the work, replace tools that are not compliant.
• Assemble product per print and released procedures to ensure a quality product.
• Safely operate all equipment such as die cut, drill press, lathe, mill and sanders, etc.
• Route to Quality or perform in-process inspection per the procedure.
• Troubleshoot quality issues and rework as necessary to ensure the product meets requirements, elevate to senior Assembler or leadership for difficult issues.
• Perform tests per the test procedure and record results.
• If the test fails, troubleshoot issues and rework as necessary to ensure product meets requirements, elevate to senior Assembler or leadership for difficult issues.
• Perform foreign object detection (FOD) activities to minimize any potential risks.
• Comply with all safety procedures to ensure proper protective equipment usage.
• Identify process improvements with the goal of increasing efficiency and elevate to leadership.
• Clean, sweep, remove trash and set workstation to ensure tools are in their proper location and the area is clean for the next job.
• Identify safety, quality, delivery cost issues and report to management.

Hours

Shift is Monday to Friday, 6:45 am – 3:15 pm. Some overtime may be required. The position is on-site at our Seminole, OK

Requirements

Required Qualifications

• 2 years minimum of relevant experience in a repair/manufacturing/production environment, building or repairing parts. A&P Certification completion may be used in lieu of experience.
• A&P Certification preferred; experience with ISO or AS9100 procedures preferred.
• Demonstrated ability reading schematics, prints, drawings, etc. for part assembly.
• Ability to safely operate all equipment such as die cut, drill press, lathe, mill and sanders, etc. is required.
• The ability to read, and interpret English documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals and reports, drawings and schematics is required.
• Able to work on-site in our Seminole, OK facility 5 days a week, is required.

Required Competences

Physical Demands: this job regularly requires the use of your hands and fingers; to handle, control, or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; talk, hear and see. Repetitive movement is also required. The job requires you to sit, walk, stoop, bend and move about in an office area/shop area. You will occasionally be required to sit and climb or balance, As well as lift, move, push, and/or carry up to 25lbs regularly; lift, move, push, and/or carry up to 50lb occasionally; and rarely lift, move, push, and/or carry up to 100lbs. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision and ability to adjust and focus.
