You will interpret sales specs, assemble components, and ensure finished units are properly prepared for shipment, leveraging a range of hand and power tools in a safety-focused environment.

Qualifications

  • Strong mechanical aptitude with focus on precision, quality, safety and detail.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills.
  • Valid driver’s license with ability to travel up to 5%.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally and up to 20 pounds frequently.

Responsibilities

  • Process daily RMAs, unpack, sort, and record model, part and customer information.
  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, and perform routine maintenance on equipment.
  • Document parts, labor hours, and service details on RMA forms; perform on-site calls as needed.
  • Fulfill new machine orders by assembling spare part kits per sales specs.
  • Inspect, test, and securely package finished machines for shipping with proper documentation.
  • Utilize hand and power tools to complete precision mechanical assemblies; maintain spare machine inventory.

What We Need

Brady Corporation is looking for an Assembly Technician - Dot Peen for our Engraving Solutions business, which includes our Brady and Gravotech brands. In this hands-on role, located in Pittsburgh (Cranberry Township), the individual will assemble, test, troubleshoot, repair, and perform maintenance on Dot Peen marking machines.

What You'll Be Doing
  • Process daily Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) documents daily; unpack, sort, and record all necessary information (e.g., model numbers, part numbers, and customer information).
  • Perform diagnostic troubleshooting, routine maintenance, and mechanical repairs on customer equipment.
  • Accurately document all necessary information (e.g. parts, labor hours) on RMA forms, and conduct on-site field service calls at customer facilities as needed.
  • Fulfill new machine orders by analyzing sales specifications, gathering necessary components, and assembling spare part kits.
  • Inspect, test, and securely package finished machines for delivery to the Shipping department. Ensure shipping checklists, tags, and documentation are complete and attached.
  • Utilize hand tools, power tools, band saws, drill presses, and bench grinders to complete precision mechanical assemblies.
  • Track, repair, and maintain reserve machine inventory designated for backup deployment and customer demonstrations.
What You Will Need To Be Successful
  • Strong mechanical aptitude skills with a focus on precision, quality, safety, and detail.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills with a strong record of workplace dependability.
  • Valid driver’s license and the ability to travel up to 5%.
  • Comfortable navigating computers, mobile devices, and standard workplace technology.
  • Ability to safely lift, push, pull, and carry up to 50 pounds occasionally, up to 20 pounds frequently, and up to 10 pounds constantly.
  • Capability to work safely in a manufacturing environment with occasional exposure to moving mechanical equipment and loud noises.
