Job summary

Aerotek is seeking an Assembly Technician in Brookston, IN to construct metal frames for large switchboards and perform full assembly with basic wire harness work. You will follow blueprints, use tape measures, and meet customer specifications in a first-shift setting.

The role requires attention to detail, ability to lift 50 lbs, read blueprints, and operate with PPE. This is a contract-to-hire position with competitive hourly pay and onsite work.

As an Assembly Technician, you will play a crucial role in constructing the metal frames of large switchboards within a production bay. Your tasks will involve full assembly and basic wire harness assembly on each unit, following detailed blueprints and using precise measurements. You will have access to all necessary parts and a dedicated workstation, allowing you to focus on creating custom switchboards that meet unique customer specifications.

• Use tape measure and blueprint to perform repetitive assembly tasks.

Work Environment

The job is performed primarily on the 1st shift from 7:30 am to 4:00 pm, with occasional overtime as needed. The work environment is clean, well-lit, and quiet, fostering a positive atmosphere for precision work. Personal protective equipment such as steel toes, safety glasses, gloves, hearing protection, and high-visibility clothing are required. Employees are encouraged to be self-motivated, working independently while having access to a supportive team and supervisors.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Brookston, IN.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $22.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
