Job summary

Responsibilities

  • Assemble mechanical and electromechanical equipment per drawings and work instructions.
  • Interpret drawings, BOMs, and assembly docs to guide builds.
  • Meet target build times and maintain schedule adherence.
  • Inspect parts, verify materials, and ensure quality at final assembly.
  • Safely use hand tools, power tools, and measurement equipment.
  • Document activities, inspections, and quality records.
  • Troubleshoot issues and communicate discrepancies promptly.

Description: Assembly Technician

1. POSITION SNAPSHOT

In this role, you will assemble and test FlackTek's advanced centrifugal mixing systems with precision, ensuring every product meets the company's high standards for quality, safety, and performance. You will play a critical role in transforming engineering designs into reliable equipment that enables our customers' success. Working in a collaborative manufacturing environment, you will contribute to continuous improvement initiatives while supporting production goals in a fast-paced, growing organization. The Assembly Technician’s attention to detail, commitment to safety, and dedication to craftsmanship directly impact FlackTek's reputation for delivering industry-leading products.

This role reports to the: Production Manager

2. PRIMARY OUTCOMES
  • Safety performance with zero preventable safety incidents and 100% compliance with company safety procedures
  • Achieve production schedule adherence by completing assigned assemblies on time
  • Maintain high first-pass quality by minimizing assembly defects and rework
  • Ensure accurate inventory usage and documentation throughout the assembly process
  • Actively participate in continuous improvement initiatives that improve quality, efficiency, or safety
3. CORE RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Assemble mechanical and electromechanical equipment according to engineering drawings and work instructions
  • Interpret technical drawings, electrical schematics, bill of materials, and assembly instruction documentation
  • Complete production tasks within target build times maintaining daily and weekly schedule adherence
  • Inspect parts and verify materials meet quality standards before final assembly
  • Operate hand tools, power tools, and measurement equipment safely and accurately
  • Document production activities, inspections, and quality records
  • Verify completed assemblies meet specifications through inspection and measurement
  • Troubleshoot assembly issues and communicate discrepancies promptly
  • Perform preventive maintenance on assembly equipment and workstations
  • Maintain an organized, clean, and safe work environment through daily standard practices
  • Support inventory accuracy by reporting material shortages and discrepancies promptly
  • Assist with shipping, receiving, and production support activities as needed
  • Contribute ideas that improve manufacturing quality, efficiency, and safety
  • Train and support team members on assembly processes when appropriate
  • Collaborate with engineering, quality, and supply chain teams to resolve manufacturing issues
  • Support production priorities in a dynamic manufacturing environment
4. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • Education:
    • Associate degree in Manufacturing, Mechanical Technology, or a related technical field, or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience
  • Experience:
    • 2+ years of experience in manufacturing, equipment assembly, aerospace, automotive, or a related production environment
    • Experience assembling mechanical equipment and using standard manufacturing processes
    • Experience working both independently and as part of a team in a manufacturing setting
  • Technical Skills:
    • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, bill of materials, and work instructions
    • Experience using mechanical inspection tools and precision measuring equipment
    • Proficiency using hand tools, power tools, and other assembly equipment safely
    • Basic computer proficiency for production documentation and manufacturing systems
    • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
    • Ability to work occasional overtime as needed
    • Ability to travel up to 10%
5. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Preferred Experience:
    • Experience working in a Manufacturing Resource Planning (MRP) or ERP system
    • Experience in a high-mix, low-volume manufacturing environment
    • Experience supporting continuous improvement initiatives
  • Preferred Skills:
    • Working knowledge of inventory control and lot traceability
    • Lean Manufacturing experience
    • Mechanical troubleshooting and root cause problem-solving skills

7. WORK LOCATION, SCHEDULE, & TRAVEL
  • Role Type: Full Time - Non-Exempt
  • Location: Onsite, in person in Louisville, CO
  • Regular Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8am - 5pm
  • Travel: Up to 10% (domestic)
8. COMPENSATION & BENEFITS
  • Compensation:
    • Annual Base Salary Range: $21 - $30 per hour
