Job summary

Flow Control Group in Georgia is seeking an assembler to build products from components using hand and power tools, fixtures, and templates. You will read prints and specs, assemble, modify, troubleshoot, and rework units to meet quality standards.

Work at multiple stations in a non-climate controlled warehouse, perform quality inspections at each step, lift up to 65 lbs, and collaborate with teammates to maintain safety and efficiency.

Qualifications

• Ability to use hand tools and ratchets.
• Familiarity with reading technical prints and diagrams.
• Stand/sit/walk on hard surfaces up to 12 hours daily.
• Ability to perform visual inspections of components and subassemblies.
• Ability to work at a high pace and under pressure.
• Must lift loads 25-65 lbs routinely.
• Participate in safety programs and training.
• Basic PC usage including mouse, Windows, data entry.
• Follow oral/written instructions with commonsense understanding.

Job description

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Assembly of an entire product or component of a product using hand tools, power tools, fixtures, and templates.
• Use prints or spec sheets, and verbal and written instructions to assemble, modify, troubleshoot, rework, or reassemble units.
• Sets and operates a machine for the purpose of assembling, processing, or repairing individual products.
• Properly follows the established process and the process parameters.
• Keep work area, equipment, machines, clean and orderly at all times.
• Maintains supplies by checking stock, anticipating, and requesting supplies.
• Must perform as a team member with the willingness and attitude to work with others to resolve problems.
• Work at different stations as production needs require.
• Perform quality inspections at every step in the process to ensure compliance with quality standards.
• Monitoring the quality of components and clearly communicating to the supervisory team of any issues.

• Ability to stand, sit and/or walk on a hard surface safely bend, stoop, reach and use ladder up to 8 hours a day, occasionally up to 12 hours per day.
• Ability to perform visual inspection of all components and finished subassemblies.
• Ability to perform at a high pace environment and be able to work well under pressure.
• Must have good mobility and must be able to routinely lift loads of 25-65 lbs.
• Participates in and complies with all occupational safety programs sponsored by the company.
• Basic knowledge of PC usage required to include using a mouse, Microsoft Windows, and data entry operations.
• Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out oral or written instructions.

Working conditions

Work is performed in a non-climate controlled warehouse environment with substantial amount of interaction with employees, equipment, and customers. The warehouse area has continuous activity and a fair amount of noise which is normal.

Physical requirements

Significant amount of time spent standing and walking. Requires manual dexterity, normal vision, speaking, and hearing abilities. Ability to lift and stretch to interact with product and boxes of product weighing up to fifty pounds. Ability to climb picking stairs/ladders is essential to the position. Attention to surroundings and safety is essential.
