Job summary

Westmor Industries in Hugo, MN is seeking an Assembly Technician to complete mechanical assembly tasks for painted equipment. You will read blueprints, interpret drawings, and assemble components per work orders and schematics to ensure quality and on-time delivery.

Qualifications

• Ability to read blueprints and dimension styles.
• Read 1/8”, 1/16”, and 1/32” gradations on tape measure.
• Convert feet to inches and vice versa.
• Identify tools and perform basic mechanical tasks.
• Proactive problem solver in a dynamic shop setting.

Responsibilities

• Perform all necessary assembly routines before and after equipment has been painted.
• Read and interpret blueprint detail drawings and dimension styles.
• Use shop paperwork, work orders, and schematics to complete machine assembly.
• Install mechanical components, purchased parts, and sub-assemblies, including drivelines, motors, pumps, valves, and piping systems.
• Update paperwork to reflect any changes and required documentation.
• Operate equipment safely - ironworker, small band saw, drill presses, jancey drills, cutting torch, and other equipment, as required.
• Follow safe operating and lifting procedures for overhead cranes.
• Operate forklift according to safe operation procedures, including acquisition and maintenance of training certificate.
• Test-run completed equipment prior to shipment.
• Other duties as assigned.

Compensation:

The starting pay range for this position is $22.00 to $28.00 per hour. Final compensation will depend on various factors including: skills, experience, and location.
