Job Description
A Mechanical Technician is responsible for completing the following tasks:
- Perform all necessary assembly routines before and after equipment has been painted
- Read and interpret blueprint detail drawings and dimension styles
- Use shop paperwork, work orders, and schematics to complete machine assembly
- Install mechanical components, purchased parts, and sub-assemblies, including drivelines, motors, pumps, valves, and piping systems
- Update paperwork to reflect any changes and required documentation
- Operate equipment safely - ironworker, small band saw, drill presses, jancey drills, cutting torch, and other equipment, as required
- Follow safe operating and lifting procedures for overhead cranes
- Operate forklift according to safe operation procedures, including acquisition and maintenance of training certificate
- Test-run completed equipment prior to shipment
- Other duties as assigned
Compensation
The starting pay range for this position is $22.00 to $28.00 per hour. Final compensation will depend on various factors including: skills, experience, and location.
Qualifications
- Able to read blueprints
- Read 1/8” , 1/16”, and 1/32” gradations on tape measure
- Convert feet to inches and vice versa
- Tool Identification
- Strong mechanical aptitude
- Proactive problem solver in a dynamic shop setting
