IPS Corporation is seeking an Assembly Technician in Fontana, CA. The role involves assembling water irrigation and piping supplies, using power and air tools, and packaging finished products for shipment.

Location: Fontana, CA
Shift: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM

About the Role:

Reporting to the Assembly Supervisor, you will assemble water irrigation and piping supplies and pack finished product into shipping packages for customers.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Use power tools and other mechanical tools in the assembly and packaging of product
  • Use air tools and other mechanical tools to tighten parts and ensure they are within specifications
  • Package product by placing material into plastic bags
  • Box product by placing the finished product into boxes.
  • Open boxes by cutting and removing tape and raw material to be processed
  • Scan finished product labels into the system using a hand-held scanning device
  • Unroll labels, place roll into a label machine, and use the computer to enter information for that specific job and label
  • Tap boxes by adding packaging materials. Secure boxes and apply tape
  • Dip and rinse parts if necessary
  • Ensure workstations are maintain in a clean and orderly manner following the principles of 5S. This involves sweeping, picking up unused material, sacking and putting away unused material, and dumping large trash cans.
  • Assembling - Assemble parts by hand ex. (screwing two parts together, snapping a part into another part, wrapping a part in plastic, breaking down a part and making it into another part).
  • Stamping UPS Code - Ensure appropriate UPC code or serial number is added to finished parts using a stamp.
  • Walking/Standing 100% of time worked.
Physical Requirements
  • Must have the ability to sit and stand for long periods.
  • Must be able to lift and move items or boxes up to 30 pounds.
