The Assembly Technician at Nomad GCS plays a critical role in ensuring the assembly of high-quality products that meet customer expectations. This position requires technical expertise, attention to detail, and the ability to adapt to a fast-paced work environment. The Assembly Technician will work with a variety of tools, equipment, and materials to complete tasks efficiently and safely, contributing to the overall success of the production team.

Essential Functions / Responsibility
  • Follow process sheets, create kits, and ensure compliance with Lean manufacturing principles.
  • Operate testing equipment such as electrical multimeters, LP leak detectors, high/low voltage meters, and pressure/vacuum testers.
  • Cross-train to work on various assembly tasks, including flooring installation, plumbing, door and window installation, stabilizing systems, HVAC, cabinet and countertop construction, welding, and technology integration.
  • Collaborate with the team and management to enhance productivity and ensure safety in all operations.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by management to support the overall goals of the department.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to follow engineering drawings and instructions.
  • Adaptability to work across various processes and willingness to cross-train.
  • Effective communication and collaboration with team members to meet production goals.
  • Demonstrate initiative and a safety-first mindset in all tasks.
  • Take on additional duties as assigned.
Basic Knowledge Desired
  • At least 2 years of experience in one or more of the following areas:
    • Cabinet or countertop construction
    • General construction or finish carpentry
    • HVAC systems
    • Plumbing (PVC, PEX)
    • Hydraulics
    • Automotive experience with trucks
  • Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, and cost optimization techniques.
  • Familiarity with operating a wide range of tools including power drills, saws, sanders, hand tools, multimeters, and pneumatic tools.
  • Demonstrate understanding and application of Nomad Core Values.
Benefits and Compensation
  • Nomad offers a full benefit package including 6 paid holidays and 3 weeks (15 days) of paid personal time off (PTO) for a total of 21 paid days off in your first year.
    • At $21.00/hour your annual income for holiday and PTO time = $3,528.
    • At $23.00/hour = $3,864.
    • At $25.00/hour = $4,200.
  • PTO increases by 1 day per year up to 4 weeks or 20 days at 5 years.
  • Nomad also has a 401K plan with a matching contribution from Nomad. If you invest 1%, 2%, or 3% we will match with 1%, 2%, or 3%. If you invest 5% in your 401K retirement plan Nomad will match with 4% or:
    • At $21.00/hour and 4% the Nomad annual investment in your 401K = $1,747.00
    • At $23.00/hour and 4% = $1,914.00
    • At $25.00/hour and 4% = $2,082.00
  • Nomad has a full benefit package including multiple health insurance plans, dental, and vision insurance, a quarterly incentive bonus, tuition assistance that is available every year, paid maternity/paternity leave and paid jury duty.
Physical Demands
  • Regular use of hands and arms to manipulate, handle, feel, reach, or operate objects, tools, or controls.
  • Frequent standing, walking, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, sitting, and crawling.
  • Frequently lift/move up to 25 pounds and occasionally up to 50 pounds. Assistance required for anything heavier than 50 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus and distinguish colors.
  • Must have the physical stamina to work in awkward positions and stand for prolonged periods.
Working Environment
  • Partially environmentally controlled indoor area with temperatures fluctuating between 60°F and 100°F, typically maintained around 70°F.
  • Occasional outdoor work required.
  • Exposure to noise levels ranging from low to loud; safety hearing devices provided as needed.
  • Possible exposure to household and commercial chemicals; adherence to safety protocols outlined in Safety Data Sheets (SDS) required.
  • Mandatory wearing of OSHA-approved safety eyewear and closed-toed shoes at all times on the production floor.
  • Use of additional personal protective equipment (PPE), such as respirators or protective coveralls, may be necessary for specific tasks.
Qualifications & Experience
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience working with relevant assembly processes.
  • Valid driver’s license in good standing.
