Job summary

Mahomed Sales Warehouse LLC in Indiana seeks an Assembly Team Lead to direct daily production, assign work, and maintain safety, quality, and productivity. You will coach assembly operators, monitor output, and partner with the Production Supervisor on improvements.

Description

The Assembly Team Lead directs daily production operations by leading assembly operators and enforcing safety, quality, and productivity standards. This role assigns work, manages materials and workflow, and addresses issues immediately to maintain continuous, efficient, and defect-free production. Through hands-on leadership and coaching, the Team Lead builds team capability and supports the Production Supervisor in achieving operational goals.

Essential Job Functions
  • Enforce all safety requirements and ensure consistent use of required personal protective equipment.
  • Maintain a safe, orderly, and hazard-free production environment.
  • Assign and adjust daily work responsibilities in coordination with the Production Supervisor.
  • Ensure uninterrupted production by proactively identifying and correcting risks, constraints, and issues.
  • Stage, prepare, and manage materials to minimize workstation downtime.
  • Enforce adherence to all defined processes, standard operating procedures, and quality requirements.
  • Monitor production output and hold Assembly Operators accountable for meeting performance and quality standards.
  • Train, coach, and mentor Assembly Operators to improve skill level, productivity, and consistency.
  • Oversee equipment setup, operation, and operator-level preventive maintenance.
  • Maintain accurate production tracking, labeling, housekeeping, and documentation.
  • Identify, troubleshoot, and escalat**e** production or personnel issues; implement corrective actions as required.
  • Lead by example to promote discipline, professionalism, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
  • Partner with the Production Supervisor to improve production operations and execute assigned special projects.
  • Perform other related duties as required to support operational needs.
Requirements
Minimum Qualifications
  • Minimum two (2) years of experience in a manufacturing or production environment; prior lead or trainer experience preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to learn and operate across multiple production work cells while meeting safety, quality, and production standards.
  • Proven reliability and dependable attendance.
  • High School diploma or GED required.
  • Ability to direct work, reinforce expectations, and maintain operational control.
  • Strong problem-solving, organizational, and prioritization skills.
  • Basic proficiency in math, reading, writing, and mechanical reasoning.
  • Availability to work all assigned shifts and overtime as required by operational demand.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Possesses deep knowledge of all MSW specific production work cells and demonstrates proficiency in work content within safety, quality, and production standards.
  • Prior experience leading or training teams in a multi cell manufacturing environment.

  • Ability to deliver instructions and corrective feedback confidently and professionally.
  • Ability to communicate work and safety requirements effectively with employees who have limited English proficiency using appropriate methods and tools.

  • Ability to perform active, hands-on work in a manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to operate production and maintenance equipment safely.
  • Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds occasionally and 25 pounds frequently.
  • Ability to stand and walk on the production floor for prolonged periods.
Work Environment
  • Manufacturing environment with exposure to machinery, noise, and varying temperatures.
  • Fast-paced setting with high expectations for safety, productivity, and accountability.
  • Requires a continuous presence on the production floor and frequent interaction with employees and leadership.
  • Work schedules may include varying shifts, extended hours, and overtime based on production needs.
