Job summary

Caterpillar Inc. in Sanford, NC is seeking an Assembly Team Lead to oversee assembly operations, ensure quality, and drive continuous improvement on the shop floor.

You will monitor processes, coach teammates, and maintain a safe, organized work environment. As a leader, you will train staff, coordinate with section managers and cross-functional partners, and ensure deadlines are met while promoting CPS 5S and waste-elimination principles.

• Previous leadership experience.

• 3rd Shift Starting Pay: $25.10/hour + 8% Shift Premium

As an Assembly Team Lead at Caterpillar you will:

• Have knowledge of all assembly procedures, standard work schedules, quality requirements and build requirements in assigned work area.
• Use various tools provided in the work area to perform assembly duties and may include the use of lifting devices to move heavy components of weights of more than 35 lbs.
• Perform other related work duties as assigned.
• Follow and utilize CPS principles of 5S, Continuous Improvement Idea Reporting, Waste Elimination, and Standard Work.
• Keep work area in a clean and orderly condition
• Must meet deadlines.
• Have the ability to multitask and prioritize work.
• Be a contributing team member.
• Train new and develop existing employees.
• Be a liaison between team members and section managers.
• Be the first point of contact for questions related to employee job functions.
• Perform administrative functions and may be accountable for daily team PQVC metric boards.
• May provide input on schedule/build adjustments
• May communicate with cross-functional leaders.
• Rely on independent decision-making and problem-solving to complete job tasks.
• Communicate potential build schedule, inventory or manpower issues and solutions to section manager.

• Ability to perform repetitive operations
• Ability to lift up to 35 lbs.

Summary Pay Range:
