Job summary

PTMW Inc. in Topeka, KS is seeking a skilled Welder to join the Assembly team. You will weld shell assemblies for custom steel enclosures, following welding symbols and procedures to meet deadlines for customers.

The role requires 1+ year welding experience with GMAW, FCAW, GTAW, the ability to read tapes/measures, pass tests (visual and bend), and the capacity to lift up to 100 lbs. This is a full-time, on-site position at PTMW Inc. Topeka.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent; Technical Welding certificate preferred.
• Must pass D1.3 weld certification as part of pre-hire assessment.
• 1+ year welding experience with multiple processes (GMAW, FCAW, GTAW).
• Able to pass visual and bend tests on various materials; able to lift up to 100 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Interpret and follow welding procedures and symbols on drawings.
• Use calibrated measuring tools to properly fit up assemblies.
• Operate welding equipment including plasma cutters and torches across positions and materials.
• Weld parts in various positions and processes (GMAW, FCAW, GTAW)
• Clean and maintain equipment and work area; follow safety guidelines.
• Assist in other production areas as needed.

Job Details Job Location: PTMW Inc - Topeka, KS 66618 Position Type: Full Time Education Level: Technical Certificate Job Category: Skilled Labor - Trades We are looking for a self-motivated, quality-minded, highly skilled Welder to join our Assembly team. In this position, welders work on the shell assembly of custom sheet steel enclosures. PTMW welders are expected to safely complete each job within specific deadlines to ensure we meet our customers' needs.

Key Responsibilities

• Interpret and follow proper welding procedures and welding symbols on drawings.
• Use calibrated measuring tools (measuring tapes, squares, etc.) to properly fit up assemblies.
• Utilize industry tools and equipment. Hand, pneumatic, electric, and battery powered tools. Plasma cutters, oxyacetylene torches, and carbon air arc.
• Weld parts in various positions, processes (GMAW, FCAW, and GTAW), and materials (Steel, Aluminum, and Stainless Steel).
• Clean and maintain equipment and work area.
• Follow all safety guidelines and procedures.
• Assist in other areas of production as needed or as assigned.

QualificationsRequired

• High School Diploma or Equivalent. Technical Certificate or Degree in Welding preferred
• Successful candidates must be able to pass the D1.3 weld certification as part of their pre-hire assessment.
• 1+ year of welding experience
• Experience in various welding processes (GMAW, FCAW, GTAW)
• Working knowledge of industry tools and equipment
• Proficient in basic math and able to read tape measures
• Able to pass visual and bend tests in various processes and positions on various materials
• Capable of lifting up to 100lbs
• Ability to pass pre-employment background check, drug screen, physical capacity test and breath alcohol test.
