North American Stamping is expanding and looking to hire an experienced Assembly Production Supervisor. We are a privately held company founded in 1978, leading in innovative processes and technologies within the automotive industry. Our strategic locations across North America enable us to serve the U.S., Canada, and Mexico. NASG specializes in manufacturing stampings and automated assemblies, serving as a Tier II supplier for automotive components including seating, ride control, exhaust, heat shields, NVH, chassis, structural parts, and window regulators.

Our sales have grown at an 18.0% CAGR over the last eight years, tripling our business, making us one of the largest Tier II automotive stamping and assembly suppliers. The Production Group Leader reports to the Production Manager or designate and oversees manufacturing activities in their area. They motivate, train, and mentor Team Leaders and Members, focusing on safety, quality, efficiency, and cost reduction using NASG's TQPS principles. The Group Leader ensures adherence to standardized work, training in proper methods, Lean, 5-S, and TQPS tools to improve KPIs.

Experience Requirements:
  • Proven leadership, communication, and facilitation skills.
  • Preferably 2+ years managing in a fast-paced stamping/welding environment.
  • At least 3 years of press experience with progressive and/or transfer dies; weld assembly experience is a plus.
  • Ability to use measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, gauges.
Personal/Technical Skills:
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficient writing and computer skills.
  • Leadership and developmental skills for subordinates.
  • Accountable, teachable, approachable, adaptable, and problem-solving abilities.
Essential Job Functions:
Safety
  • Conduct safety inspections, training, and ensure OSHA compliance.
  • Enforce safety protocols including safety blocks, lockout/tagout, and safety guards.
  • Report accidents, injuries, and near misses; participate in safety meetings.
  • Train team leads on safety and ergonomics, support safety improvements.
5-S Process
  • Develop and review 5-S plans, mentor team leaders, and ensure standards are maintained.
  • Conduct daily evaluations, coach on abnormalities, and ensure continuous improvement.
  • Train in standardized work and audit processes.
Cell Operations
  • Audit quality, drive SMED, oversee visual inspections, and manage containment procedures.
  • Allocate manpower, ensure equipment runs at targeted rates, and record production data.
  • Coordinate activities, respond to line issues, and monitor KPIs.
  • Train, mentor, and develop team members and leaders.
Problem Solving / Continuous Improvement
  • Lead root cause analysis, implement countermeasures, and monitor results.
  • Promote proactive problem resolution and process learning.
  • Manage downtime, changeovers, and process improvements.
Teamwork and Communication
  • Maintain effective communication across shifts, provide feedback, and participate in team meetings.
  • Ensure documentation and adherence to KPIs, report issues, and pass critical information.
  • Support training, discipline, and performance evaluations.
Self-Development
  • Lead by example in safety, ethics, and work ethic.
  • Promote teamwork, maintain positive attitude, and demonstrate strong communication skills.
  • Work flexible hours as needed and ensure compliance with procedures.
Education Requirements:

High school diploma or GED minimum.
