Job summary

EZ LOADER ADJUSTABLE BOAT TRAILER SALES CORPORATION INC in Port Saint Lucie, FL is seeking an assembler to join the production team. You will read blueprints, use hand and power tools, and assemble components for shipment with a focus on quality and efficiency.

You will operate a forklift, maintain work areas, and support continuous improvement initiatives such as 5S. A high school diploma or GED and 1–2 years related experience are encouraged.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or GED, or 1-2 years related experience.
  • Ability to read, write and perform basic math.
  • Ability to safely operate a forklift.
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions and memos.
  • Willingness to learn continuous improvement (5S, setup reduction).

Responsibilities

  • Read and interpret blueprints and work instructions to assemble components.
  • Use hand and power tools to assemble parts and prepare for shipment.
  • Inspect parts and products during or after assembly.
  • Maintain the facility and clean trailer yard, warehouse, and other areas.
  • Operate tractor and forklift to unload, stage, and load trailers.
  • Cross train to other departments as needed.

Job description

Summary: Works with other team members to produce components by assembling parts and subassemblies, and/or completes kitting, assembly and packaging processes according to established operating procedures and/or customer specifications. This position is responsible for maintaining the facilities inside and outside. The position will ensue that all trailer bets are unloaded and built properly.Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Include the following. Other duties may be assignedRead, learn, understand and interpret blueprints and work instructions, and other instructions written or verbal, to complete assembly of products or components according to established guidelines and quality standardsUse a variety of hand and power tools following appropriate methods and procedures to complete mechanical assembly of components or products, and prepare products and other items for shipmentInspect and test parts and products as necessary, during or after assembly, according to established guidelines and quality standards.Maintain the facility by organizing and clean trailer yard, warehouse, building slab, compressor room and any other areas that need attentionOperate tractor and forklift to pull, organize, stage boat trailers and unload/load trailers and pallets.Cross Train to other departments as neededAll EmployeesFollow Mission, Vision & Values.Maintain a positive work atmosphere by acting and communicating in a manner so that you get along with customers, clients, co-workers, and management.Continue to grow lean knowledge and use the tools to identify and assist with continuous improvement.Comply with safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly work areas.Qualifications: To perform this job successfully, and individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Ability to read, write and perform basic mathematical calculations. Ability to safely operate a forklift and other mechanical equipment.Language: Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.Mathematical Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs. Ability to read and comprehend measuring tools such as a tape measure.Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.Other Qualifications: Must be willing to learn and practice continuous improvement techniques such as, but not limited to, 5S and set-up reduction. The ability to participate and lead in a team-oriented environment with the willingness to assist and train others. Demonstrate safe behavior and support department/plant safety goals in a continuous improvement process. Able to work a flexible schedule, including overtime, weekends before and after schedule as needed. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. The ability to write routine reports and correspondence, as well as speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization.Physical Demands: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand.
