Job summary

Qualifications

  • Determines size of cardboard boxes and prepares products for shipment with proper packaging and labeling.
  • Notifies relevant personnel when supplies are low and restocks as needed.
  • Assists with orientation, training, troubleshooting and problem resolution; maintains good housekeeping.
  • Occasional overtime upon notice.

JOB SUMMARY:

Prepares orders for shipping to customers.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Reads shop orders, work instructions to determine daily requirements. Pay careful attention to customer specific requirements or special instructions.
  • Moves material within the warehouse, production floor by carrying, pushing, rolling or operating hand trucks, motorized conveyors or other material handling equipment.
  • Loads and unloads materials and parts from pallets, trays, racks and shelves by hand.
  • Prioritize jobs by due date, expedite
  • Determines size of cardboard boxes, inserts product into bags or containers with protective padding per customer & company requirement. Counts and check packages; labels for shipment to customers, affixes labels to bags and boxes or marks crates as required.
  • Notifies appropriate personnel when shipping supplies are low, retrieves, restocks additional supplies as needed.
  • Serves as a resource for others in the department and assists with orientation, training, troubleshooting and problem resolution.
  • Maintain good housekeeping in work area during and at end of shift.
  • Occasional overtime upon notice
REQUIREMENTS:
  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Must have clear understanding of basic math
  • Can read, write and comprehend English (work orders, safety and operational instructions).
WORK ENVIRONMENT & POTENTIAL HAZARDS:
  • Spends 100% of time in the shop. Standing 90% of time.
  • Some exposure to possible shop hazards including high noise and heavy machinery.
  • Exposure to manufacturing environment preferred.
