nVent is seeking an Assembly Operator for the Weekend Shift in Blaine, Minnesota. Open to entry-level and skilled applicants who can follow work instructions, read blueprints, and assemble mechanical parts into finished products.

You will use hand and power tools, operate scales, and ensure accuracy and quality per specs. You will maintain equipment, follow safety and 5S standards, and participate in continuous improvement activities to meet production schedules.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED preferred.
  • Knowledge in use of scales preferred.
  • Experience following work instructions or reading blueprints preferred.
  • Experience in assembling mechanical parts into a finished product preferred.
  • Experience in using hand and power tools preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assemble, fill, kit, prepare, label, and package products per Work Instructions.
  • Complete work based on specifications, drawings, routings and Work Instructions.
  • Select and move production materials as required.
  • Maintain equipment and materials necessary to complete the operation.
  • Meet safety, quality and performance standards to meet schedules.
  • Record information on Manufacturing Orders and maintain inventory records.
  • Adhere to 5S standards and keep area clean and organized.
  • Escalate safety/quality issues per procedure and notify leaders as needed.
  • Rotate assignments and participate in continuous improvement activities.

Job description

nVent is looking for entry level and skilled Assembly Operators on Weekend Shift to join our team.

Responsibilities
  • Work individually or as part of a team to assemble, fill, kit, prepare, label, and/or package an entire product or component of a product according to Work Instructions.
  • Completes work based on specifications, drawings, job routings, and/or Work Instructions.
  • Selects and moves production materials as required .
  • Maintains equipment and materials necessary to complete the operation.
  • Meets established safety, quality , and performance standards to ensure production schedules are met.
  • Records accurate information on Manufacturing Order and performs transactions necessary to maintain accurate records and inventory balances.
  • Complies with all applicable safety procedures, quality specifications, and 5S Standards. Reports adverse conditions, non-conforming products/procedures, and 5S violations to department leader in accordance to escalation procedure .
  • Adheres to department 5S standards daily. Maintains a clean, safe, and organized work area.
  • In accordance with escalation procedure, notify team leader or other appropriate resource when problems arise concerning safety, quality, equipment, operations, materials, inventory, documentation, etc.
  • Demonstrates flexibility by performing rotational assignments as needed. Participates actively as a team member through continuous improvement activities to meet customer needs.
Requirements

  • Pay Transparency nVent’s pay scale is based on the expected range of base pay for this job and the employee’s work location. Employee pay within this range will be based on a combination of factors including knowledge, skills, abilities, experience, education, and performance. Where federal, state, or local minimum wage requirements exist, employee pay will comply. Compensation Range:
  • $14.80 - $27.50 Per Hour
  • Depending on the position offered, employee may be eligible for other forms of compensation, such as annual incentives.
