Job summary

Astemo Ltd. is seeking an Assembly Operator for our Monroe, GA plant to perform operations per instruction sheets, inspect dimensions, and support continuous improvement in a safety-focused manufacturing environment.

The role requires teamwork, basic math, and physical stamina, with the ability to lift up to 40 pounds and use hand tools in a fast-paced setting. Training and a stable shift structure are provided.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent is required.
• Manufacturing / industrial experience preferred in electronic/mechanical assembly or high speed equipment operation.
• Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment to achieve production goals.
• Sufficient reading and writing ability to follow work orders and prepare simple reports.
• Basic math skills.
• Sufficient manual dexterity to operate machines properly.
• Sufficient visual acuity (corrected) to read instructions and inspect parts.
• Physical ability to stoop and bend frequently.
• Physically able to lift/carry up to 40 pounds frequently.
• Must have acceptable scores on pre-employment assessments.

Responsibilities

• Work according to operator instruction sheets and/or verbal instructions to perform operations.
• Check products and/or component dimensions with indicators/gauges as described in procedures or work instructions.
• Change simple parts and fixtures to facilitate changeover of product types.
• Visually and manually check for defects in product or workmanship.
• Input data daily to maintain charts and reports to support manufacturing, engineering, quality, material control, and sales.
• Maintain a clean and orderly work area using the 5S policy in all processes.
• Comply with work instructions and procedures to ensure manufacture of products meeting TS16949 and ISO14000 and customer quality standards.
• Suggest and implement continuous improvement programs.
• Communicate machine issues and failures with support staff and co-workers.
