Job summary

ASTEMO AMERICAS, INC. is hiring an Assembly Operator for the F shift (Friday, Saturday and Sunday AM shift, 12 hours per day) in Georgia.

The role requires following operator instructions, inspecting parts and products, and changing simple parts to support product types. Qualified candidates will have a high school diploma or equivalent, basic math and reading/writing skills, and the ability to work in a team to meet production goals.

Qualifications

  • Manufacturing/industrial experience preferred, electronic/mechanical assembly or high-speed equipment operation.
  • Ability to work in a team to meet production goals and improve metrics.
  • Basic reading/writing to follow work orders and prepare simple reports.
  • Basic math skills and manual dexterity for operating machines.

Responsibilities

  • Follow operator instruction sheets and verbal instructions to perform operations.
  • Check dimensions with indicators and gauges as described in procedures.
  • Change simple parts and fixtures to support product changeovers.
  • Inspect for defects and ensure product quality.
  • Enter daily data to maintain charts and reports for manufacturing, engineering, quality, material control, and sales.
  • Maintain 5S in all processes and daily activities.
  • Comply with work instructions to meet TS16949 and ISO14000 standards.
  • Suggest and implement continuous improvement programs.
  • Report machine issues to support staff and coworkers.

Job Overview

Assembly Operator – F shift, Friday, Saturday and Sunday AM shift (12 working hours/day).

Essential Functions
  • Work according to operator instruction sheets and/or verbal instructions to effectively perform operations.
  • Check products and/or component dimensions using various indicators and gauges as described in procedures or work instructions.
  • Change simple parts and fixtures to facilitate changeover of product types.
  • Visually and manually check for defects in product or workmanship.
  • Input data daily to maintain charts and reports that support manufacturing, engineering, quality, material control, and sales.
  • Maintain a clean and orderly work area utilizing the 5S policy in all aspects of processes, procedures and daily activities.
  • In all processes and functions, comply with work instructions and procedures to ensure manufacture of products that conform to TS16949 and ISO14000 and customer quality standards.
  • Suggest and implement continuous improvement programs.
  • Communicate machine issues and failures with support staff and co‑workers.
Qualifications
  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • Manufacturing / industrial experience preferred, specifically in electronic/mechanical equipment assembly or high‑speed equipment operation.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment to achieve production goals including cycle time, takt time, scrap rates, etc.
  • Sufficient reading and writing ability to follow work order instructions and prepare simple production reports.
  • Basic math skills.
  • Sufficient manual dexterity to operate machines properly.
  • Sufficient visual acuity (corrected) to read instructions, operate machines, and visually inspect parts/products.
  • Physical ability to perform work requiring frequent stooping and bending.
  • Physical strength sufficient to lift and carry 40 pounds frequently.
  • Must have acceptable scores on pre‑employment assessments.

  • Supervisory Responsibilities: None.
  • Physical Demands: The employee is frequently required to walk, stand, sit, use hands to handle objects, reach, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, talk or hear. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 40 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Work Environment: Plant environment. Required to wear hat, safety glasses and steel‑toe shoes while performing specific tasks or in specific manufacturing areas.
