Job summary

Cadrex Southampton in Pennsylvania is seeking an Assembly Operator I to assemble WIP parts into finished goods using sonic welding, heat staking, gluing, and screw insertion. This role emphasizes accuracy, labeling, and documentation on the production floor.

The position is onsite with a M-F 6:00am - 2:30pm schedule. Candidates should follow procedures, stay aware of safety rules, and support packaging and shipping activities as needed.

Qualifications

  • No manufacturing experience required.
  • Mechanical aptitude and hand-working skills preferred.
  • Experience using hand tools, assembly equipment, or production machinery preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Inspect, label, route, punch, sand, insert and package plastic parts.
  • Document production and scrap on daily sheet with labels and tags.
  • Report defects or issues to supervisor.
  • Work safely and comply with OSHA standards.
  • Assist with packaging, unpacking, shipping and receiving.

OVERVIEW

Cadrex is searching for an Assembly Operator I to perform tasks related to assembling work in progress (WIP) parts to produce finished goods (FG) through various processes including, but not limited to sonic welding, heat staking, gluing, inserting screws, and other assembly processes to meet customer and ISO standards.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Inspecting, labeling, milling, routing, punching, sanding, inserting, making, and packaging of plastic parts.
  • Document production and scrap on daily sheet including labels, production tags and hourly rate sheets.
  • Report defects or issues to supervisor.
  • Working safely at all time and compliance with OSHA standards.
  • Performs other duties and assignments as directed by shift supervisor or management.
  • Assist with packaging and unpacking of parts.
  • Assist with shipping and receiving of products.

Requirements

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • No previous manufacturing experience is required.
  • Mechanical aptitude and hand-working skills preferred.
  • Experience using hand tools, assembly equipment, or production machinery preferred.
  • Basic communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Basic math skills.
  • Ability to follow instructions and retain direction.
  • Previous experience in manufacturing assemblies, shipping and receiving, packaging, or material handling preferred.
EDUCATION
  • High School Diploma
WORK ENVIRONMENT
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts. The employee is occasionally exposed to high places, fumes or airborne particles and toxic or caustic chemicals. The employee is frequently exposed to vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate and may require hearing protection in specific locations.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands and fingers, handle or feel, and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to walk and stand for long periods and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to sit. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 35 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, color vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. For specific jobs, employees may be required to wear a respirator or ear plugs.
