Job summary

HSP US is seeking an Assembly Operator to produce high-quality bushing components in a fast-growing energy sector operation in Charlotte, NC. You will assemble sub‑assemblies, install hardware, and perform quality checks while following detailed work instructions and safety standards.

You will work closely with operations, engineering, and quality teams to ensure materials meet specifications and delivery is on time.

Qualifications

  • 1-3 years of manufacturing, assembly, or industrial experience.
  • Ability to read and follow work instructions and assembly procedures.
  • Basic mechanical aptitude with hand and power tools.
  • Ability to perform repetitive tasks with attention to detail.
  • Strong commitment to safety and quality.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods.
  • Experience in electrical equipment, transformers, insulation, or high-voltage manufacturing.
  • Experience with foaming, resin, composite, or insulation processes.
  • Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing and 5S practices.
  • Experience using measurement tools such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges.
  • Forklift or overhead crane experience.
  • Strong communication skills with a hands-on mindset
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, technical drawings, and material specifications
  • Experience working in high-paced, high-mix production environments

Responsibilities

  • Assemble high‑voltage bushing components according to work instructions, engineering drawings, and quality standards.
  • Perform mechanical assembly of sub‑components and finished products.
  • Complete final assembly operations, ensuring all parts fit, are secured, and inspected.
  • Install hardware, seals, fittings, conductors, insulation materials, and related components.
  • Use hand tools, power tools, torque equipment, and fixtures safely.
  • Drive continuous improvement across the supplier base to improve lead times, reliability, and cost efficiency.
  • Collaborate with operations, engineering, and quality teams on material requirements and specifications.
  • Prepare and operate foaming equipment per production requirements.
  • Mix, measure, and apply foam materials according to specifications.
  • Monitor foaming processes for proper material distribution, curing, and quality.
  • Inspect foamed components and identify defects or nonconformances.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of foaming equipment and areas.
  • Conduct in‑process and final inspections to verify product quality.
  • Read and interpret work orders, drawings, specifications, and assembly instructions.
  • Identify and report quality issues, defects, and process abnormalities.
  • Complete required production and quality documentation accurately.
  • Support corrective actions and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Follow all safety procedures, PPE requirements, and 5S guidelines.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment and participate in safety activities.
  • Report unsafe conditions, incidents, and near misses immediately.
  • Adhere to environmental, health, and safety requirements at all times.

As an Assembly Operator at HSP US, you play a critical role in producing high-quality bushing products that meet customer expectations and industry standards. Every finished component begins with careful attention to production requirements, quality specifications, and safe work practices, and that's where you come in. You'll assemble bushing components using designated equipment, tools, and work instructions while performing quality checks throughout the manufacturing process. Working closely with team members, supervisors, quality personnel, and maintenance staff, you'll help ensure efficient production, on-time delivery, and continuous improvement across the operation. What We Are Looking For!
