Job summary

VELUX Group in Greenwood, Indiana is seeking an Assembly Operative to perform repetitive assembly of skylight component parts, following production standards and job instructions. The role involves frame building, gasket assembly, pre-packing, packing machine operation, and off-loading of finished product in a safety-conscious environment.

You will work 6:00am to 4:30pm, Monday to Thursday, with overtime and weekend opportunities.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• Experience in a production environment preferred.
• Ability to read blueprints is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assemble the FCM unit including frame, gasket, pre-packing, and packing machine operation.
• Load and off-load finished products and ensure proper handling.
• Maintain safety, quality and 5S practices; follow job instructions and supervision directions.

Alongside the rest of our values, “courage” and “mutual respect” define our actions every day and how we wish to contribute to the world.## FCM Assembly Operative## **Primary Purpose:**The primary purpose of this position is to perform repetitive assembly operations in the manufacturing of skylight component parts according to production standards and plans.**Primary Responsibilities:*** Complete assembly of the FCM unit including frame building, gasket assembly, pre-packing, packing machine operation, and off-loading of finished product* Performs work according to Job Instructions (J.I.’s) assigned to the position* Ensures production, quality and safety standards are met* Performs cleaning and maintaining of 5’s practices* Performs other assignments as directed by local supervision **Hourly Pay Rate:** $20.25 - $22.30 **Shift Schedule:** 6:00am to 4:30pm Monday to Thursday**Qualifications:*** High School Diploma or GED is preferred* Experience in a production environment is preferred* Ability to perform the essential functions assigned to the position* Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.* Experience reading and utilizing blueprints is preferred* Understanding of metric measurement systems is preferred* Must be able to work overtime and on weekends as needed* The desire and ability to work in a team environment demonstrated through a positive quality, safety, attendance and good work history* Compliance with all rules of conduct, safety regulations and policies provided in Employee Handbooks, on Company bulletin boards/announcements, terms/conditions of employment or other means of communication is a requirement of the job.
