Job summary

VELUX is hiring an Assembly Operative for our Greenwood, Indiana site to perform repetitive assembly of skylight component parts according to production standards and plans. The role involves frame building, gasket assembly, pre-packing, packing machine operation and off-loading of finished product.

You will read JIs, ensure production quality and safety, maintain 5S cleanliness, and take on additional assignments as directed by local supervision. Overtime and weekend work may be required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• Experience reading blueprints is preferred.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work overtime/weekends as needed.

Responsibilities

• Assemble FCM unit including frame building, gasket assembly, pre-packing, and packing machine operation.
• Follow Job Instructions and maintain production, quality and safety standards.
• Perform cleaning and 5S practices; assist with other assignments as directed by supervision.

Alongside the rest of our values, “courage” and “mutual respect” define our actions every day and how we wish to contribute to the world.## FCM Assembly Operative## **Primary Purpose:**The primary purpose of this position is to perform repetitive assembly operations in the manufacturing of skylight component parts according to production standards and plans.**Primary Responsibilities:*** Complete assembly of the FCM unit including frame building, gasket assembly, pre-packing, packing machine operation, and off-loading of finished product* Performs work according to Job Instructions (J.I.’s) assigned to the position* Ensures production, quality and safety standards are met* Performs cleaning and maintaining of 5’s practices* Performs other assignments as directed by local supervision **Hourly Pay Rate:** $20.25 - $22.30 **Shift Schedule:** 6:00am to 4:30pm Monday to Thursday**Qualifications:*** High School Diploma or GED is preferred* Experience in a production environment is preferred* Ability to perform the essential functions assigned to the position* Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.* Experience reading and utilizing blueprints is preferred* Understanding of metric measurement systems is preferred* Must be able to work overtime and on weekends as needed* The desire and ability to work in a team environment demonstrated through a positive quality, safety, attendance and good work history* Compliance with all rules of conduct, safety regulations and policies provided in Employee Handbooks, on Company bulletin boards/announcements, terms/conditions of employment or other means of communication is a requirement of the job.
