Job summary

Komline-Sanderson in the United States seeks an Assembly Mechanic I to assemble mechanical and pneumatic components across multiple product lines, interpreting drawings and ensuring proper fit. The role involves handling large parts on the manufacturing floor with forklifts or overhead cranes.

You will diagnose and resolve issues, contribute to continuous improvement, and mentor less experienced teammates while upholding safety and quality standards.

Qualifications

• 1 year+ of experience in assembly and manufacturing.

Responsibilities

The Assembly Mechanic I is a professional responsible for assembling complex mechanical systems and supporting critical build processes across multiple product lines.

Roles And Responsibilities

• Assemble mechanical and pneumatic components into sub-assemblies across multiple models in each of their respective product lines
• Ensure proper fit of all parts by drilling, grinding, or shimming to adjust to a proper fit
• Interpret and provide feedback on engineering drawings, identifying discrepancies and recommending design improvements
• Diagnose and resolve advanced mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic issues during assembly and testing
• Move large parts and machines around manufacturing floor using forklift or overhead crane
• Proven ability to lead tasks or projects and mentor less experienced team members

Required Qualifications

• 1 year+ of experience in assembly and manufacturing environment
• Ability to operate equipment, troubleshoot, and problem solve
• Organized with a strong attention to detail with a dedication to quality and safety
• Ability to frequently stand, bend, and reach
• Ability to lift, pull up, or push up to 50 pounds

Preferred Qualifications

• Technical school training, apprenticeship, or relevant industry certification in mechanical assembly, manufacturing, or a related field (or equivalent combination of education and hands-on experience)
• Experience in a manufacturing environment
• Experience in wastewater, industrial equipment, or heavy machinery manufacturing
• Lean manufacturing or continuous improvement experience (Kaizen, 5S, etc.)
