Job summary

Komline-Sanderson is seeking an Assembly Mechanic I to join our manufacturing team in New Jersey. You will assemble mechanical and pneumatic components across multiple product lines, interpreting drawings and ensuring proper fit through drilling, grinding, and shimming.

You will diagnose and resolve mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic issues during assembly and testing, move large parts with a forklift or overhead crane, and mentor less experienced teammates as needed.

Qualifications

• 1 year+ of experience in assembly and manufacturing environment.
• Ability to operate equipment, troubleshoot, and problem solve.
• Organized with a strong attention to detail with a dedication to quality and safety.
• Ability to frequently stand, bend, and reach.
• Ability to lift, pull up, or push up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Assemble mechanical and pneumatic components into sub-assemblies across multiple models in each product line.
• Ensure proper fit of all parts by drilling, grinding, or shimming to adjust to a proper fit.
• Interpret and provide feedback on engineering drawings, identifying discrepancies and recommending design improvements.
• Diagnose and resolve advanced mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic issues during assembly and testing.

• Experience in a manufacturing environment
• Experience in wastewater, industrial equipment, or heavy machinery manufacturing
• Lean manufacturing or continuous improvement experience (Kaizen, 5S, etc.)
