Job summary

RTX, a leading aerospace and defense company, is hiring an Onsite Engine Mechanic for weekend shifts at Midland, GA. You will disassemble/assemble engines, clean parts, and perform visual checks to assess component condition for continued use. This is a safety‑sensitive, FAA‑regulated role with EH&S commitments.

Requirements include a High School Diploma or equivalent; A&P license or aviation/mechanical experience preferred. SAP familiarity is a plus. U.S. citizenship is required.

  • Engine disassembly/assembly - perform mechanic duties to disassemble and assemble engines, engine sections and accessories.
  • Clean - perform cleaning of engine parts and components.
  • Visual checks to assess minimal part condition for continued use and basic inspection techniques.
  • Demonstrate commitment to EH&S and continuous improvement by complying with policies and completing training.
  • SAP familiarity.
  • Manage tools and tooling to ensure serviceability before and after use and address issues.

Weekend Shift

What You Will Do

  • Engine disassembly/assembly - Perform mechanic duties to disassemble and assemble engines, engine sections and accessories.
  • Clean - Perform cleaning of engine parts and components.
  • Perform visual checks to assess minimal part condition for continued use where applicable.Understand the basic inspection techniques as a part of a career development path.
  • Demonstrate commitment to the EH&S and continuous improvement programs by complying with all policies and procedures, completing all required training, and supporting all applicable committee activities.
  • SAP familiarity.
  • Ability to manage tools and tooling to ensure serviceability before and after use and process appropriately when issues arise.
  • FAA Safety Sensitive Position

Qualifications You Must Have *

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent

Qualifications We Prefer

  • A&P License or two years aviation, aerospace and/or previous mechanical experience.
  • Turbine engine overhaul, and repair experience preferred in one or more of the following disciplines: Disassembly, Assembly.
  • Ability to identify and resolve configuration and compatibility issues.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite

This position is classified as:

Onsite: Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance employees, as they are essential to the development of our products.

For onsite and hybrid roles, commuting to and from the assigned site is the employee’s personal responsibility.
