Job summary

Altrad Sparrows is seeking an Assembly Mechanic in Slidell, LA to perform in-shop repairs and overhauls on cranes, winches and hydraulic systems. You will apply your hands-on mechanical, hydraulic, electrical and diesel repair know-how to maintain equipment and ensure reliability.

You must have a high school diploma and 2+ years of relevant experience, and be able to provide your own hand tools. The role offers a stable, safety-focused environment with opportunities for skilled growth.

• Must be able to identify major crane components.
• Ability to operate material handling equipment.

Responsibilities

• Overhaul winches, valves and hydraulic components.
• Maintain engines, forklifts and cherry pickers.
• Install and overhaul cranes onshore.
• Assist in crane overhaul in shop.
• Provide own hand tools.
• Keep shop and grounds clean and maintained.
• Maintain all shop tools, equipment and supplies.
• Understand and comply with Sparrows Offshore Quality Policy and procedures.
• Follow Safety and Environmental requirements.
• Perform all other duties as required by Supervisor within the physical constraints of the job.

Position: Assembly Mechanic

MAIN PURPOSE:

Perform in-shop repairs and overhauls.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Overhaul winches, valves and hydraulic components.
• Perform maintenance on engines, forklifts and cherry pickers.
• Installation of new and rebuilt cranes onshore.
• Assist in overhaul of cranes in shop.
• Provide own hand tools.
• Keep shop and grounds clean and maintained.
• Maintain all shop tools, equipment and supplies.
• Know and understand Sparrows Offshore’ Quality Policy and comply with all requirements of the Quality System manual, Operating and Technical Procedures and Workplace Instructions.
• Understand and comply with all Safety and Environmental requirements.
• Perform all other duties as required by Supervisor within the physical constraints of the job.

EDUCATION:
