Job summary

JST is seeking an Automated Assembly Maintenance Technician to support second shift operations at the J.S.T. Corporate Office in Waukegan, IL.

You will troubleshoot, repair, and maintain automated assembly equipment to ensure safe, efficient production and consistent product quality. Ideal candidates are mechanically inclined with strong troubleshooting skills, able to work in a fast-paced environment, and comfortable performing preventative maintenance, changeovers, and data entry into the CMMS

Qualifications

• HS diploma or equivalent required.
• Trade/technical certification in automation preferred.
• Minimum 2 years in automated manufacturing maintenance.
• Strong troubleshooting and root cause analysis abilities.
• Experience with sensors, pneumatics and mechanical assemblies is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and repair automated assembly equipment (mechanical, electrical, pneumatic).
• Perform preventive maintenance per schedule.
• Complete production changeovers.
• Conduct pre-production equipment checks.
• Inspect and approve first-piece samples.
• Use calibrated measuring tools (micrometers, calipers, gauges).
• Enter maintenance data into CMMS system.
• Report equipment issues to the Assembly Maintenance Supervisor.
• Support production during relief periods when needed.
• Maintain a clean and safe work area per 5S standards.

Corporate Office (JA) - Waukegan, IL 60085, Salary Range: $24.00 - $30.00 Hourly, Job Shift: Second Shift, JST is seeking a skilled Automated Assembly Maintenance Technician to support our second shift operations. This role is responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining automated assembly equipment to ensure safe, efficient production and consistent product quality.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and repair automated assembly equipment (mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic systems)
• Perform preventative maintenance according to schedule
• Complete production changeovers
• Conduct pre-production equipment checks
• Inspect and approve first-piece samples
• Use calibrated measuring tools (micrometers, calipers, gauges)
• Enter maintenance data into CMMS system
• Report equipment issues to the Assembly Maintenance Supervisor
• Support production during relief periods when needed

Physical Requirements
