Position Summary

The primary duties are to safely stock and pull parts from inventory by a production schedule to keep the department running efficiently and on time. Utilizes computer to make inventory transactions, pull prints, performs cycle counting and run production reports. Accuracy of work is of the utmost importance with the ability to switch between responsibility with no negative impact on quality and productivity.

WHAT YOU WILL DO:

• Physically pulls parts from inventory throughout the day in a safe manner to keep machines in the department running and works with set up people, planner and productions reports to ensure customer delivery is met.
• Utilizes current software to make inventory transactions for pulling parts and prints pick slips as needed to pull parts from inventory.
• Break down boxes/bags/containers to meet order quantities and re-labels containers with new quantities.
• Utilizes scale to determine weight/1000 and part count.
• Accuracy of transactions is of the utmost importance.
• Physically puts incoming parts into inventory in a safe manner and performs associated computer transactions. Ability to switch between responsibilities with no negative impact on productivity and quality of work is essential.
• Periodically performs cycle count activities.
• Utilizes computer to run production report daily to prioritize orders to be pulled and works with set up people and planner to maximize throughout and meet customer deliveries
• Good communication with team members via email, written notes and verbal is essential.
• Read and understand written work instructions.
• Participates in team meetings and works well with team members. Actively participates in continuous improvement activities to assist team in meeting goals related to quality, cost and delivery.
• Learn and employ basic computer skills.
• Prints lot sheets, box labels and manually packages product.
• Conducts 100% inspection of product as needed.
• Maintain good housekeeping at all times in their assigned work area as well as all areas within the Assembly Department.
• Safely assemble various types of assemblies on manually loaded and actuated machines.

• Safely operate automatic and semi-automatic machines which have been set up and perform in process inspections
• Measure manufactured product using a micrometer, caliper, overlay, optical comparator or other gages to ensure quality requirements are met.
• Develop their skills to a point that will enable them to produce quality parts at an acceptable production level.
• Works in other departments to help meet customer commitments which may include inspecting or sorting product, assists in keeping machines running or other activities.
• Will be assigned additional duties as required to meet team and company goals. The objective is to do whatever is necessary to reach the overall goal of ensuring the highest possible level of production, quality and customer satisfaction.
• Access computer for written work instructions, prints and documentation.
• Correctly utilizes time and attendance management systems.
• Identifies, contains, and follows all non-conformance procedures if a defective condition is found.
• Move material or product to other areas via a hand jack, cart and electric pallet jack.
• Employs lean concepts including 5S and recycling activities.
• Observes all safety regulations in all duties.
• Visual acuity for detailed work.
• Manual dexterity to handle small components.
• Ability to sit or stand for up to 10 hours while performing their duties.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds repetitively to stock and pull inventory. Lifting and bending to cover full range of motion, from the floor to above the shoulder level.
• Must be able to work in an unairconditioned, well-ventilated and/or air-conditioned shop environment.
