Software Placement Group is hiring an Assembly/Machine Builder in Waterloo, IA for a first-shift, on-site role. You will construct custom machines from start to finish using drawings and blueprints, maintaining precision and safety in a low-volume production environment.

Ideal candidates have a High School Degree, 1+ years in manufacturing or mechanical work, and the ability to read blueprints, operate wrenches and material handling tools, and lift up to 75 lbs. English fluency is required.

Location: Waterloo, Iowa | Schedule: Full-time, on-site, first shift | Compensation: $24-29/hour (approximately $24,000-$29,000 annually)

Overview

An industrial equipment manufacturer is seeking an Assembly/Machine Builder to construct custom, made-to-order machines from start to finish in a low-volume production environment. This role is ideal for a mechanically skilled individual who takes pride in precision, safety, and craftsmanship while building equipment to exact drawing specifications.

What you'll do

• Build custom, made-to-order machines according to drawing specifications
• Work from prints, sketches, or verbal instructions to complete assembly tasks
• Maintain strong attention to detail throughout the build process
• Operate safely in all aspects of the job
• Keep the work area clean and organized
• Build machines individually from start to finish in a low-volume setting

Required qualifications

• High School Degree
• 1+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment or mechanical work
• High mechanical aptitude
• Ability to read blueprints
• Understanding of hydraulic components and functionality
• Basic understanding of 12V wiring
• Ability to use wrenches, air tools, overhead cranes, and perform steel handling with frequent lifting
• Forklift experience or ability to be trained on forklift operation
• Ability to lift 50 lbs. regularly and up to 75 pounds
• Ability to stand or be on your feet all day
• Ability to read, write, and speak English fluently
• Subject to drug screening and background check

Preferred qualifications

• Experience working on cars or any type of mechanic background is a plus

Compensation and benefits

• Pay range of $24-29/hour (approximately $24,000-$29,000 annually), commensurate with experience
