South Bay Solutions is seeking an experienced Assembly Lead to guide daily operations in our high-precision manufacturing environment. You will coordinate production schedules, mentor team members, and ensure products meet stringent specifications while maintaining safety.

The ideal candidate will be hands-on, thrive in a fast-paced setting, and drive continuous improvement through lean practices and strong teamwork across shifts.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum 3 years in assembly/manufacturing.
  • 1+ year of supervisory/leadership experience in a manufacturing setting.
  • Ability to read blueprints and work instructions.
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

  • Lead daily assembly operations and coordinate production schedules.
  • Monitor quality and ensure compliance with specifications and work instructions.
  • Train and develop team members, promoting safety and continuous learning.
  • Drive continuous improvement and advocate best practices across the assembly department.
  • Promote workplace safety and ensure PPE usage and clean, safe work environment.

Summary

We are looking for an experienced Assembly Lead to join our manufacturing operation and play a key role in driving productivity, quality, and team success. This position is responsible for leading daily assembly activities, coordinating production schedules, supporting employees, and ensuring products are built safely and efficiently to customer specifications.

The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader who thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys mentoring team members, and is committed to continuous improvement.

What You'll Do
Lead Daily Operations
  • Coordinate and assign daily work based on production schedules.
  • Monitor workflow and ensure production goals are achieved.
  • Provide direction, support, and guidance to assembly team members.
  • Serve as the first point of contact for production and assembly-related issues.
  • Communicate priorities and updates between departments and shifts.
Ensure Product Quality
  • Monitor work-in-process and completed assemblies for quality compliance.
  • Verify products meet specifications, work instructions, and customer requirements.
  • Investigate quality concerns and implement corrective actions.
  • Promote a culture of quality throughout the production process.
Train and Develop Team Members
  • Train employees on assembly procedures, tools, equipment, and safety practices.
  • Coach team members to improve skills and performance.
  • Support employee development through cross-training and continuous learning.
Drive Continuous Improvement
  • Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, productivity, and product quality.
  • Recommend and support process improvements.
  • Assist in implementing best practices throughout the assembly department.
Promote Workplace Safety
  • Ensure compliance with all safety policies and procedures.
  • Monitor proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Report and address unsafe conditions promptly.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
Required Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 3 years of assembly or manufacturing experience.
  • At least 1 year of leadership, lead, or supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong understanding of assembly processes, tools, and production workflows.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and work instructions.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Ability to motivate, coach, and lead a team effectively.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Technical or vocational training in manufacturing or a related field.
  • Experience with lean manufacturing or continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Familiarity with production reporting systems and basic computer applications.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
  • Ability to perform repetitive assembly tasks.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds as required.
  • Manual dexterity to handle tools, equipment, and small components.
