Bidell Gas Compression is hiring an Assembly Installer to join our manufacturing team in a hands-on role building and installing process piping for natural gas compressor packages. You will read P&IDs and drawings, lay out runs, select hardware, and assemble piping with overhead cranes and shop tools.

• 2–3 years of pipefitting experience.
• Must be able to read blueprints, P&IDs, and technical drawings.

Responsibilities

• Assemble and install piping using project drawings and P&IDs.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings including P&IDs, BOMs, and isometrics.
• Lay out piping runs and components per specifications.
• Select bolts, gaskets, and related hardware.
• Install pipe supports, braces, and hangers.
• Cut, thread, and fit steel piping.
• Operate overhead cranes to position pipe spools.
• Complete quality documentation and inspections.
• Ensure compliance with Bidell and customer specs.
• Follow PPE requirements and safety procedures.
• Maintain a clean, organized work area.
• Participate in toolbox talks and safety training.

THE OPPORTUNITY

We are currently hiring for the role of Assembly Installer.

The Assembly Installer reports to the Assembly Supervisor and department Lead Hand. This position is responsible for assembling and installing process piping systems and related components for natural gas compressor packages. The role requires the ability to interpret engineering drawings, perform mechanical assembly tasks, and maintain strict adherence to safety and quality standards within a manufacturing environment.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSABILITES

(Include but are not limited to the following):

• Assemble and install process piping systems using P&IDs, isometric drawings, and general arrangement drawings
• Read and interpret engineering drawings including P&IDs, BOMs, and isometric drawings
• Lay out piping runs and components based on specifications and drawings
• Select appropriate hardware including bolts, gaskets, and related materials
• Install pipe supports, braces, and hangers as required
• Cut, thread, and fit steel piping
• Safely operate overhead cranes to position and install pipe spools of various sizes
• Complete Bidell quality documentation and perform final inspections
• Ensure all work complies with Bidell and customer specifications
• Follow all safety procedures, including PPE requirements and LOTO procedures
• Maintain a clean and organized work area
• Participate in toolbox meetings and safety training
• Comply with and promote all company PPE requirements
• Perform other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Minimum of 1 year of industrial or mechanical experience preferred
• 2–3 years of pipefitting experience
• Experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment preferred
• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Must be at least 18 years of age
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, P&IDs, and technical drawings
• Experience with cutting and threading steel pipe preferred
• Familiarity with rigging and overhead crane operation (certification preferred)
• Ability to safely operate hand tools and shop equipment
• Must be able to work effectively as part of a team

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

• This position is performed in a manufacturing environment. The employee may be exposed to:
