Job summary

Assembly Floater responsibilities include assembling, painting, packaging, and transporting units and subassemblies, while meeting quality standards and following standard procedures. The role requires a high school diploma or GED and US work authorization; prior manufacturing

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required or preferred.
  • Previous manufacturing experience is a plus.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States; sponsorship not available.

Responsibilities

  • Performs assembly functions in all areas as directed by manager and assembles/packages parts.
  • Assembles various units, kits, accessories, subassemblies, coils, hardware packets and valves as directed.
  • Collects parts and prepares for assembly sufficient quantity to meet production schedule.
  • Assembles units/accessories following standard procedures and checks quality.
  • Performs quality checks on small units per procedures and specifications.
  • Checks continuity of valve and reads blueprints/assembly drawings.
  • Paints product and prepares units for painting using standard equipment.
  • Packs finished units and attaches labels/serial numbers as required.
  • Records finished goods information on the job sheet and uses carts to move goods.
  • Uses business software to check work queues, inventory levels and production tasks.
  • Reworks units that fail quality checks and provides training to others as needed.
  • Disassembles units to replace faulty components or correct errors.
  • Operates literature copy machines and performs other duties as directed by manager.

Assembly Floater Position Summary:

Inspects components, sub assembles, assembles, paints, packages and transports units or subassemblies to staging or finished goods area.

Responsibilities

Assembly Floater Responsibilities:

  • Performs assembly functions in all areas as directed by manager. Assembles and packages accessory parts or other small units using new parts.
  • 1.1 Assembles various units, kits, accessory parts, subassemblies, coils, hardware packets, valves, etc. as directed by manager.
  • 1.2 Collects parts and prepares for assembly a sufficient quantity of each to complete the number of units specified by the production schedule.
  • 1.3 Assembles required units/accessories, following standard assembly procedures and checking continuously for quality.
  • 1.4 Performs quality checks on small units per standard procedures and specifications.
  • 1.5 Check continuity of valve.
  • 1.6 Reads and comprehends blueprints and assembly drawings.
  • Paints product
  • 2.1 Prepares units/piece parts for painting.
  • 2.2 Using standard industrial spray paint equipment, applies an even coat of protective paint to units/piece parts.
  • Packages and prepares units for shipment to customers.
  • 3.1 Attaches all identifying labels and serial numbers. (If required)
  • 3.2 Boxes finished small units and packs boxes per standard operating procedure.
  • 3.3 Records finished goods information on the job sheet.
  • 3.4 Uses hand cart/material handling equipment to move finished goods to the line assembly or shipping area and places in proper location.
  • 3.5 Packs finished units per operating procedure.
  • Exhibits and performs basic personal computer functions in various software systems, including but not limited to:
  • 4.1 Entering inspection production approvals as required.
  • 4.2 Entering accurate productivity/efficiency data as required.
  • 4.3 Using the business operating system, to check work queues, inventory levels, and other production related tasks.
  • 4.4 Using the Horton “intranet” to access quality information, blueprints, safety information, and other production related information.
  • Reworks units which fail to pass quality control checks.
  • 5.1 Disassembles units, which do not meet standards and replaces faulty components or corrects assembly errors.
  • Provides training in work methods, procedures, and work instructions to employees and temporary workers.
  • Operates literature copy machines.
  • Performs other duties as directed by manager.
Qualifications

Assembly Floater Job Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED is preferred.
  • Previous manufacturing experience is a plus.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States. This job is not eligible for sponsorship.
