Job summary

Amsted Automotive's TransForm Automotive division in Shelby Twp, Michigan, is seeking Assembly Associates to support daily plant operations in the assembly area.

You will promote Lean Manufacturing, participate in waste-elimination meetings, operate assembly machinery, ensure part quality, and complete daily paperwork including SAP labels.

Candidates should have a High School diploma or better, and basic computer skills; knowledge of SAP scanning and ISO/IATF standards is helpful.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or better.
• Ability to operate SAP handheld scanners, calculators, and printers.
• Working knowledge of IATF16949, ISO 140001, and Q1 compliance criteria.

Responsibilities

• Adapt and promote Lean Manufacturing principles.
• Active participant in Elimination of Waste Team meetings.
• Support the Company’s Goals and Objectives.
• Operate various assembly machinery within the secondary operations per operator instructions.
• Visually inspect parts to assure quality and use gauges as required.
• Responsible for quality of all production parts in their work cell.
• Report any quality defects to the Team Leader or Supervisor.
• Complete and update daily paperwork (production reports, PPLH, scrap reports, 5S housekeeping).
• Scan and print SAP product labels.

What You’ll Do

Primary Function Summary

• Adapt and promote Lean Manufacturing principles
• Active participant in the Elimination of Waste Team meetings
• Support the Company’s Goals and Objectives
• Operate various assembly machinery within the secondary operations per operator instructions
• Visually look over parts to assure proper quality, uses gauges as requires, per Control Plan/Quality check sheet
• Responsible for quality of all production parts produced in their respective work cell
• Reporting any quality defects to the Team Leader or Supervisor
• Completing and updating all paperwork on a daily basis (production reports, PPLH, scrap reports, 5"S" housekeeping, etc.)
• Scanning and printing SAP product labels

What You’ll Need To Succeed

• Computer skills and other workplace machinery such as SAP hand held scanners calculators and printers
