Job DescriptionJob Description

Position Title: Assembler/Welder

Location: Kalamazoo, MI

Pay Range: $19.00/HR.

Shift: 2nd

Schedule: M-F, 3:00PM to 1:30AM

Job Description:

  • Build fans, motors, burners and gas manifolds.
  • Cut insulation with water jet machine.
  • Accurately complete checklist.
  • Perform MIG welding on steel components used in HVAC units
  • Read and interpret blueprints and welding symbols to determine project specifications
  • Set up welding machines and select proper settings based on materials and project requirements
  • Read and interpret blueprints and CAD drawings (Training provided)
  • Observe all company rules and policies (Safety, attendance, etc.)
  • Participate and work in a team atmosphere, positive attitude.
  • Maintain high productivity and quality workmanship.
  • Suggest design and procedure improvements that improve quality, productivity, and reduce cost.
  • Responsible for keeping work area(s) clean and free of clutter during work time and at the end of shift.
  • Safely operate forklift and/or other lift equipment

Qualifications:

  • Ability to read, write and do simple math.
  • Good mechanical ability.
  • Minimum 1–2 years of MIG welding experience in a manufacturing or fabrication environment
  • Ability to accurately read tape measure. (Training will be provided.)
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and CAD drawings. (Training will be provided.)
  • Ability to operate cold saws, iron worker, shear cut and bend sheet metal. (Training will be provided.)
  • Ability to safely and properly use a wide variety of tools, including hand and power tools.
  • Ability to safely and properly operate a forklift and/or other lift equipment. (Training will be provided)
  • Ability to follow directions in standard practices and procedures
  • Construction, assembly and carpentry background is helpful in this position.
