Altec Roanoke is seeking assemblers to prepare, assemble and install vehicle and/or chipper components across Mechanical, Hydraulic, Electrical, Unit and Finish departments.

You will read blueprints and schematics, use tape measures and tools, maintain a clean workspace, and participate in Altec Production System initiatives while potentially cross-training to other areas to meet production needs.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Ability to read, write, and comprehend English is required.
• Basic computer usage knowledge desired.
• Vocational training in lieu of experience will be considered.
• Ability to read tape measures, blueprints, and schematics desired.
• General knowledge in mechanical, hydraulics, electrical or manufacturing/production processes preferred.

Responsabilités

• Use and care of PPE.
• Read and interpret schematics (blueprints).
• Read and interpret work orders.
• Use basic hand tools such as tape measures and specialty equipment.
• Learn and operate all equipment within the work area (cell).
• Perform rework as required.
• Support APS initiatives and participate in RCI events.
• May cross-train to other work areas to support production needs.
• Install unit vehicle and/or chipper components and accessories.
• Test installed components.
• Follow safety, environmental and quality policies and practices.
• Maintain work area and tools/equipment.
• Maintain daily time records.
• Other duties as assigned.
