Job summary

Taco, Inc. in Cranston, RI, seeks an Assembler Tester II for on-site 2nd shift. You will implement intermediate assembly and testing of pumps and components, following MPS and BOM, ensuring accuracy while keeping a clean, organized workspace.

Safety gear is required and ERP updates are routine. The role requires 6 months of assembly experience, a high school diploma, and ERP proficiency. You will rotate stations, maintain inventory, and contribute to meeting deadlines in a fast-paced production

Qualifications

  • 6 months of mechanical assembly experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Proficient to operate computer and perform basic data entry in systems.
  • Must learn responsibilities and adhere to production procedures.
  • Capable of standing, lifting up to 30 lbs, and using hoists for heavier materials.

Responsibilities

  • Performs detailed, multi-step assembly of parts and products per MPS and BOM.
  • Reviews ERP system daily to determine orders to process.
  • Maintains inventory of materials needed for production orders.
  • Operates equipment and uses hand and pneumatic tools as instructed.
  • May perform painting processes on rotating basis and ensure quality tolerances.
  • Rotates between workstations to meet production needs and reduce fatigue.

Position Summary:

The Assembler Tester I I is responsible for intermediate assembl y and testing of a variety of products and product components . They ensure that parts and products are assembled accurate ly by following standard practices and procedures , and they perform detailed , multi-step assembly with variations in assembly proce dures for complex products . The Assembler Tester I I maintain s necessary materials for production, keep s their workspace clean and organized, and updates work performed in the Enterprise Resource Planning system.

  • Meet Safety requirements; personal protective equipment always worn in the facility
  • Meet or exceed daily production requirements
  • 100% accuracy on any inventory transactions and quality requirements
  • 100% adherence to processes and material usage, no deviations

Responsibilities:

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Performs detailed, multi-step complex assembly of parts and products according to Manufacturing Process Sheets (MPS) and Bills of Material (BOM).
  • Reviews job information in Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system daily to determine orders to process.
  • Maintains inventory of materials needed for production orders.
  • Operates equipment and uses common hand and pneumatic tools as instructed.
  • May be required to perform painting processes of assembled pumps as needed on a rotating basis.
  • Performs standard tests after completion of each assembly operation to ensure parts and products meet tolerances, product specifications and quality standards.
  • Rotates between different workstations and/or bays as production needs require or to reduce fatigue.
  • Examines work completed by team members for accuracy, continued operations and safety.
  • Moves materials as needed for production, utilizing proper equipment and safety procedures.
  • Ensures maximum output for work area; manages time effectively in order to meet strict time deadlines and production volumes.
  • Visually inspects parts for quality and reports any issues to Team Lead or Supervisor.
  • Updates the ERP for work performed.
  • Detects and reports improper operations, faulty equipment, defective materials, and any unusual conditions to Team Lead and/or Supervisor.
  • Maintains work area in a clean and orderly condition; ensures equipment is in good operating condition.
  • Attends and participates in monthly safety meetings.
  • Adheres to all safety policies and wears personal protective equipment as required, including wearing respirator when performing painting functions.
  • Performs other related duties as requested.

Qualifications

Required:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent preferred
  • 6 months of mechanical assembly experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Competent to operate computer and complete basic data entry in systems
  • Must successfully learn specific responsibilities as assigned and adhere to production procedures
  • Proficient and functioning in job responsibilities and able to attain Manufacturing Process Sheets ( MPS ) training sign-off within 90 days
  • Physical dexterity to manipulate hand tools and power tools
  • Ability to push, pull, lift and/or move materials of up to 30 lbs ; capable of using hoists for materials over 30 lbs
  • Ability to perform repetitive work requiring constant alertness or activity, including standing and lifting
  • Highly detail-oriented in order to accurately and independently follow variations in assembly procedures
  • Capable of following verbal and/or written instruction
  • Good communication skills with the ability to work within a team setting
  • Well organized

This position works primarily in a production floor environment where large equipment and noise are prevalent . Safety gear is required , including wearing respirator when performing painting functions.

This position reports into the site every work day.

This position has no direct reports.
