Job summary

The Taco Family of Companies is seeking an AssemblerTesterI to perform basic assembly and testing of a variety of products and components on a production floor in Cranston, RI. You will follow Production Sheets and BOMs, maintain materials, and update ERP accordingly.

Safety, accuracy, and teamwork are essential as you rotate through stations, meet daily production goals, and ensure quality while working on-site in a family-owned environment.

Qualifications

  • Basic assembly experience preferred in manufacturing.
  • Ability to learn Manufacturing Process Sheets (MPS) and follow procedures.
  • Capable of lifting up to 30 lbs and using hand/power tools.

Responsibilities

  • Performs basic assembly of parts and products per MPS and BOM.
  • Reviews job information in ERP to determine orders to process.
  • Maintains inventory for production orders and updates ERP with work performed.
  • Operates basic equipment and inspects finished parts for quality.

Position Summary

The AssemblerTesterIis responsible forbasicassemblyand testingofa variety ofproducts and productcomponents.They ensure thatparts and products areassembledaccuratelyby following standard practices and procedures.The AssemblerTesterImaintainsnecessary materials for production,keepstheir workspace clean andorganized, and updates work performed in the Enterprise Resource Planning system.

  • Meet or exceed daily production requirements
  • 100% accuracy on any inventory transactions andquality requirements
  • 100% adherence to processes and material usage, no deviations
Responsibilities

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Performs basic assembly of parts and products according to Manufacturing Process Sheets (MPS) and Bills of Material (BOM).
  • Reviews job information in Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system daily to determine orders to process.
  • Maintains inventory of materials needed for production orders.
  • Operates basic equipment and uses common hand and pneumatic tools as instructed.
  • Performs standard tests after completion of each assembly operation to ensure parts and products meet tolerances, product specifications and quality standards.
  • Rotates between different workstations and/or bays as production needs require or to reduce fatigue.
  • Examines work completed by team members for accuracy, continued operations and safety.
  • Moves materials as needed for production, utilizing proper equipment and safety procedures.
  • Ensures maximum output for work area; manages time effectively in order to meet strict time deadlines and production volumes.
  • Visually inspects parts for quality and reports any issues to Team Lead or Supervisor.
  • Updates the ERP for work performed.
  • Maintains daily production records as directed.
  • Detects and reports improper operations, faulty equipment, defective materials, and any unusual conditions to Team Lead and/or Supervisor.
  • Maintains work area in a clean and orderly condition; ensures equipment is in good operating condition.
  • Attends and participates in monthly safety meetings.
  • Adheres to all safety policies and wears personal protective equipment as required.
  • Performs other related duties as requested.
Qualifications

Required:

  • High School Diploma or equivalentpreferred
  • 3 months of mechanicalassemblyexperiencein a manufacturing environmentpreferred
  • Competent to operatecomputerand complete basic data entry in systems
  • Mustsuccessfully learn specific responsibilities as assigned and adhere to production procedures
  • Proficient and functioning in job responsibilities and able to attainManufacturing Process Sheets (MPS)trainingsign-offwithin90 days
  • Physicaldexterity tomanipulate hand tools and power tools
  • Ability to push, pull,liftand/or move materials of up to 30lbs; capable of using hoists for materials over 30lbs
  • Ability to perform repetitive work requiring constant alertness or activity, including standing and lifting
  • Attention to detail is essential for success
  • Capable of following verbal and/or written instruction
  • Good communicationskillswith the ability to work within a team setting
  • Well organized
Work Environment

This position works primarily in a production floor environment where large equipment and noise are prevalent. Safety gear is required in these areas.

This position reports into the site every workday.
