Job summary

Ingersoll Rand is seeking an assembler to accurately assemble a variety of sizes and models based on standard work and engineering documents. The role requires reading blueprints and BOMs, interpreting precision measurement tools, and ensuring consistency through standard work sheets.

A High School Diploma and 1–2 years of manufacturing experience are preferred; PIV training may be required. You will cross-train in other areas and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, including

Qualifications

  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
  • Ability to read and interpret Bill of Materials and Engineering controlled documents.
  • Ability to identify and solve problems.
  • Ability to pass certification for Powered Industrial Vehicle license.
  • Ability to accurately read and interpret precision measurement tools.
  • 1-2 years’ experience working in a manufacturing environment preferred.
  • 1-2 years’ assembly experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Create, utilize, and improve Standard Work Combination Sheets to document assembly processes to ensure consistency and repeatability.
  • Participate in the 5 Why process to ensure real time problem solving, drive continuous improvement and prevent problems from reoccurring.
  • Implement visual controls throughout work area to provide ease of cross training and reduce assembly cycle time.
  • Participate in daily Red Dot / Green Dot tracking and provide valuable feedback to progress on the Business Awareness Matrix.
  • Reads, interprets, and follows Bill of Materials to pull parts for assembly and submit corrections as needed.
  • Reads and interprets blueprints.
  • Utilizes measurement tools and correctly interpret readings.
  • Assemble units of a variety of sizes and models through use of the standard work and interpretation of Engineering controlled documents.
  • Cross train in other areas to assist when needed.
  • Identifies problems and develops solutions.
  • Demonstrates excellence in completion of all other duties as assigned

Summary of Position

Education Requirements / Certifications

  • Ability to accurately read and interpret precision measurement tools i.e. Micrometer, Depth gauge, etc.
  • 1-2 years’ experience working in a manufacturing environment preferred.
  • 1-2 years’ assembly experience preferred.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to perform repetitive lifting up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to stand/walk for long periods of time.
