Job summary

Ingersoll Rand is seeking an Assembler/Tester to accurately assemble a variety of product sizes and models based on standard work and engineering documents. The role requires reading blueprints and BOMs, using measurement tools, and achieving quality through precise assembly work.

The position emphasizes establishing standard work, problem-solving through the 5 Why method, and cross-training across areas to support manufacturing operations in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

  • Read and interpret blueprints and BOM.
  • Identify and solve assembly problems.
  • Pass Powered Industrial Vehicle certification.

Responsibilities

  • Create, utilize, and improve Standard Work Combination Sheets to document assembly processes to ensure consistency and repeatability.
  • Participate in the 5 Why process to solve problems and drive continuous improvement.
  • Implement visual controls to ease cross training and reduce cycle time.
  • Participate in daily Red Dot / Green Dot tracking and provide feedback on the Business Awareness Matrix.
  • Read and interpret BOMs to pull parts and submit corrections as needed.

Summary of Position

Responsible for accurately assembling a variety of sizes and models of product based on standard work and engineering documents.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Create, utilize, and improve Standard Work Combination Sheets to document assembly processes to ensure consistency and repeatability.
  • Participate in the 5 Why process to ensure real time problem solving, drive continuous improvement and prevent problems from reoccurring.
  • Implement visual controls throughout work area to provide ease of cross training and reduce assembly cycle time.
  • Participate in daily Red Dot / Green Dot tracking and provide valuable feedback to progress on the Business Awareness Matrix.
  • Reads, interprets, and follows Bill of Material to pull parts for assembly and submit corrections as needed.
  • Reads and interprets blueprints.
  • Utilizes measurement tools and correctly interpret readings.
  • Assemble units of a variety of sizes and models through use of the standard work and interpretation of Engineering controlled documents.
  • Cross train in other areas to assist when needed.
  • Identifies problems and develops solutions.
  • Demonstrates excellence in completion of all other duties as assigned
Education Requirements / Certifications
  • High School Diploma
Experience / Skill Requirements
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
  • Ability to read and interpret Bill of Materials and Engineering controlled documents.
  • Ability to identify and solve problems.
  • Ability to pass certification for Powered Industrial Vehicle license.
  • Ability to accurately read and interpret precision measurement tools i.e. Micrometer, Depth gauge, etc.
  • 1-2 years' experience working in a manufacturing environment preferred.
  • 1-2 years' assembly experience preferred.
  • CNC machining experience a plus
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to perform repetitive lifting up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to stand/walk for long periods of time.
