Job summary

AMETEK Wichita, KS is seeking an assembler to solder actuator parts for aerospace products. J-STD certification is a plus.

The role requires HS diploma or GED and about two years in production/manufacturing; experience in aircraft instruments or electronics is desired. Responsibilities include assembly, soldering, inspection, packaging, process improvements and training; overtime may be required, with a strong emphasis on safety and quality.

  • Assemble and solder actuator parts; inspect, package and participate in process improvements and training.
  • Soldering on boards; J-STD certification is a plus.
  • Learn to use bench top equipment, test equipment, hand tools, and computers.
  • Assemble small mechanical products and test electro- and electro-mechanical products.
  • Attend meetings to determine work priorities and adhere to safety and workplace rules.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Work will include but not limited to: assembly, soldering, inspection, packaging, process improvements and training as well as other related activities
  • Ability to perform soldering on Boards. J-STD certification is a plus
  • Ability to learn the use of bench top equipment, test equipment, hands tools and computers
  • Ability to assemble small mechanical products - springs, gears, mechanical subassemblies
  • Ability to assembly and test electro and electro-mechanical products
  • Participate in meetings to determine work priorities
  • Commitment to customer and business focus in areas such as quality of work, attendance and productivity, overtime may be required
  • Adherence to company policies such as safety, respect for others, integrity and workplace rules
  • Willingness to attend additional training, either OJT or off-site training recommended by the management staff to further personal development
Education/Experience
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Two (2) years prior experience in Production and/or Manufacturing. Experience in the Manufacturing of Aircraft Instruments or Electronics desired
  • Demonstrated ability and willingness to use AI tools to improve productivity, decision-marking, work quality, and to reduce costs. The successful candidate must be able to identify appropriate AI use cases and critically evaluate AI-generated outputs
Compensation
  • Employee Type: Hourly

  • Salary Minimum: 40,000
  • Salary Maximum: 55,000
