Job Description:

The Assembler - Electronics Test Operator sets up, operates, and monitors electronic test equipment to test and verify electronic assemblies and finished products. The position follows technical instructions, test procedures, drawings, schematics, and quality requirements; records results accurately; and supports the timely delivery of conforming products. The operator is expected to demonstrate strong attention to detail, sound judgment, and consistent compliance with Good Documentation Practices (GDP).

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Perform functional and electrical testing of electronic assemblies, printed circuit boards, subassemblies, and finished productsin accordance withapproved procedures and specifications.
  • Set up test stations, fixtures, cables, and equipment using established work instructions and test procedures.
  • Operate and interpret readings from digital multimeters, oscilloscopes, DC power supplies, signal generators, and other electronic test equipment.
  • Apply the correct test parameters and compare readings with established acceptance criteria.
  • Follow technical directions, engineering drawings, schematics, bills of material, routers, and written work instructions.
  • Identifybasic test failures or abnormal results and communicate issues promptly to the supervisor, technician, engineering, or quality personnel, asappropriate.
  • Maintainaccurateand complete test recordsin accordance withGood Documentation Practices (GDP) and applicable quality requirements.
  • Accurately enter test results, measurements, defects, serial numbers, andproductioninformation both manually and in computer-based systems.
  • Ensure documentation is clear, legible, complete, traceable, and entered at the time the work is performed.
  • Review entries and completed records for accuracy and completeness before moving product to the next operation.
  • Protect the integrity of production and test data by correcting documentation errorsin accordance withapproved procedures.
  • Use only properlyidentifiedand in-calibration test and measurement equipment; report damaged, malfunctioning, or out-of-calibration equipment.
  • Handle products and componentsin accordance withelectrostatic discharge (ESD), safety, andmaterial-handlingrequirements.
  • Maintain an organized, clean, and safe work area andcomply withall company safety and quality procedures.
  • Support continuous improvement activities related to safety, quality, delivery, cost, and productivity.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma or GEDrequired.
  • Technical coursework, certificate, or associate degree in electronics, electrical technology, or a related field preferred.
  • Previousexperience in electronics manufacturing, electronic testing, or a related technical production environment preferred.
  • Experience testing printed circuit board assemblies or products used in aerospace, defense, or another regulated industry is preferred.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Working knowledge of digital multimeters, oscilloscopes, DC power supplies, and related electronic test equipment.
  • Ability to set up equipment and test fixtures by following written technical instructions.
  • Ability to read and follow test procedures, work instructions, engineering drawings, schematics, and quality documentation.
  • Basic understanding of electronic components, electrical measurements, and safe test practices.
  • Demonstrated understanding of Good Documentation Practices and the importance of data integrity and traceability.
  • Ability to performaccuratemanual and computer-based data entry, including test values, production records, and nonconformance information.
  • Strong attention to detail, organization, and accuracy.
  • Basic computerproficiency, including the ability to use MicrosoftOfficeapplications and manufacturing or test data systems.
  • Ability to recognize problems, follow escalation procedures, and communicate clearly with cross-functional team members.
  • Ability to work independently after training and collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Ability to manage multiple assignments and meet production schedules without compromising safety or quality.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with automated test equipment (ATE), electronic test fixtures, or environmental test processes.
  • Experience using manufacturing execution systems, enterprise resource planning systems, or electronic quality records.
  • IPC training or certification applicable to electronic assemblies.
  • Experience working under structured quality or regulatory requirements.

Physical Requirements:

The employee must be able to perform the essential functions of the position, with or without reasonable accommodation. Requirements may include prolonged sitting or standing; frequent use of hands and fingers for equipment operation and data entry; close visual inspection of components, displays, and documentation; distinguishing colors used in wiring or component identification; and occasionally lifting or moving materials weighing up to 25 pounds.

Work Environment:

Work is performed in a manufacturing and electronic test environment. The employee may work near energized equipment, production machinery, and ESD-sensitive components and must follow all applicable safety procedures, posted requirements, and personal protective equipment controls.
