Job summary

Reading Truck is seeking assemblers to join our Van Shop assembly team in Florida. You will build specialty truck equipment for van bodies or box trucks, using hand and power tools, measuring and cutting wood and metal, and installing floors and fixtures.

Electrical wiring for lighting and other equipment is part of the role, with ongoing supervision. Ideal candidates have basic carpentry skills, ability to operate tools, and a high school diploma or GED preferred.

Qualifications

• Basic carpentry skills
• Basic welding & electrical wiring skills a plus but not required
• Ability to operate power hand tools & read a tape measure

Responsibilities

• Assemble specialty truck equipment for Van Body or Box Trucks under supervision
• Fit and assemble components using hand and power tools
• Install wood floors, interior lining, insulation and fixtures
• Install electrical wiring for dome lights, taillights, brakes lights and other equipment
• Complete other duties as assigned by Supervisor/Manager

How You Will Make an Impact

Assemblers work under the direction of the Van Shop Supervisor to complete the assembly of specialty truck equipment for Van Body or Box Trucks.

The Nuts and Bolts

• Fit and assemble components using hand tools and power tools such as drill, riveter, etc.
• Measure and cut wood and metal materials
• Install wood floors, interior lining, insulation and fixtures using hand tools such as hammer, file and screwdriver. Power tools such as band saw, sander and hand drill.
• Install electrical wiring for dome lights, taillights, brake lights and other equipment according to specified procedures.
• Other duties assigned by Supervisor/Manager

Required Credentials

• Basic carpentry skills
• Basic welding & electrical wiring skills a plus but not required
• Ability to operate power hand tools & read a tape measure
• High School Diploma or GED preferred

PHYSICAL DEMANDS/ENVIRONMENTAL EXPOSURE:

• Work occurs in a production facility
• Exposure to heat/cold
• Standing, sitting, working in semi-confined spaces
