Job summary

J.B. Poindexter & Co., Inc. in Salt Lake City, UT is looking for a Van Assembler to join the production team. You will assemble components for van body or box trucks under the supervision of the Production Manager and Shop Lead, using hand and power tools to complete the job.

The role requires basic carpentry skills, the ability to read a tape measure, and a High School Diploma or GED preferred. Power tools and wiring skills are a plus, with additional duties as assigned by supervision.

Qualifications

• Basic carpentry skills required.
• Basic welding and electrical wiring skills are a plus but not required.
• Ability to operate power hand tools and read a tape measure.

Responsibilities

• Assemble components using hand and power tools.
• Measure and cut wood and metal materials.
• Install wood floors, lining, insulation and fixtures.
• Install electrical wiring for dome lights, taillights, and other equipment.
• Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor/manager.

How You Will Make an Impact

Van Assemblers work under the direction of the Production Manager and Shop Lead to complete the assembly of specialty truck equipment for Van Body or Box Trucks.

The Nuts and Bolts

• Fit and assemble components using hand tools and power tools such as drill, riveter, etc.
• Measure and cut wood and metal materials
• Install wood floors, interior lining, insulation and fixtures using hand tools such as hammer, file and screwdriver. Power tools such as band saw, sander and hand drill.
• Install electrical wiring for dome lights, taillights, brake lights and other equipment according to specified procedures.
• Other duties assigned by Supervisor/Manager

Required Credentials

• Basic carpentry skills
• Basic welding & electrical wiring skills a plus but not required
• Ability to operate power hand tools & read a tape measure
• High School Diploma or GED preferred
