Job summary

Festo Corporation in Mason, OH seeks a Mechanical Engineer I to support the design and development of new catalog and customer-specific products. You will convert requirements into technical concepts under supervision, learning internal design standards and Festo methodologies.

You’ll assist in feasibility evaluations, prepare engineering documents, participate in prototypes, and coordinate with sales teams and Germany headquarters to ensure successful product delivery.

Qualifications

• 1-3 years of mechanical engineering experience.
• Basic proficiency in CAD (CREO or similar).
• Foundational knowledge of materials and manufacturing processes.
• Exposure to engineering calculations or simulation tools is beneficial.
• Proficiency with MS Office.

Responsibilities

• Assist with development of new catalogue and customer-specific products under guidance.
• Prepare and maintain engineering documentation such as models, drawings, parts lists, and data sheets.
• Participate in prototype builds and testing according to defined instructions.
• Support change management documentation and tracking.
• Collaborate with customers, sales teams, and Headquarters in Germany.

Summary of Job contents: Mechanical Engineer I supports engineering activities related to the design and development of new catalog and customer-specific products. Works under close supervision to convert requirements into technical concepts using established tools and processes, while learning internal design standards and Festo methodologies.

Key Accountabilities:

• Supports development of new catalogue and customer-specific products under guidance.
• Assist with product care activities such as minor cost/quality improvements.
• contribute to design concepts and proposals, including feasibility evaluations using basic calculations, CAD tasks, and risk, cost, and schedule considerations
• Prepare and maintain engineering documentation such as models, drawings, parts lists, and data sheets in accordance with internal and general specifications, with review by senior staff
• Participate in prototype builds and testing according to defined instructions.
• Support change management documentation and tracking.
• Work in close cooperation with customers, sales teams, and the Headquarters in Germany
• Communicate with Sales and Purchasing primarily through supporting tasks or data gathering.
• Participate in customer discussions with a senior engineer present.

Knowledge & Skills:

• 1-3 years of mechanical engineering experience
• Basic proficiency in CAD (CREO or similar)
• Foundational knowledge of materials and manufacturing processes
• Exposure to engineering calculations or simulation tools is beneficial
• Strong willingness to learn and accept feedback
• Proficiency with MS Office
• Self-motivated and independent, able to make decisions and drive processes forward.
