Job summary

Vermeer Corporation in Freeman, SD is seeking an assembler to follow digital instructions and build equipment with a team. You will help produce high-quality machines that meet customer needs and Vermeer’s standards.

Responsibilities include aligning components, applying torque, testing movement, inspecting painted parts, and placing decals. You will also support workplace organization and participate in continuous improvement efforts on the line.

Qualifications

• Prior experience assembling equipment per specifications.
• Ability to follow instructions and meet time targets.
• Capable of working well in a team and communicating clearly.

Responsibilities

• Follow provided job instructions to assemble equipment and subassemblies per quality standards.
• Align components and bolts, fasten according to torque specs, install moving parts and test functionality.
• Inspect painted parts for quality.
• Apply decals, logos and safety notices; attach doors and panels as needed.
• Perform basic mathematical calculations including fractions and decimals.
• Support 5S/workplace organization and suggest improvements to performance metrics.
