Job summary

ABB in Albuquerque is seeking an entry-level production team member to assemble products on the shop floor. You will follow instructions, use basic hand tools, and monitor quality as you work within safe, Lean 5S processes.

You must be able to lift up to 40 lbs, work overtime and weekend shifts as needed, and have a High School diploma or GED. Prior manufacturing or quality control experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Conducts all types of assembly work to produce semi-finished or final products/systems/panels, including the packing where integrated with production lines.
• Performs work manually or by using light hand tools.
• Performs regular quality testing as a part of a defined production process.
• Operations within standard operating procedures and maintain a clean work area.

This position reports to:

Production Supervisor

Supports the facility in achieving the set production targets by adhering to the systems and processes. Uses machinery and equipment on the shop floor. Reads and interprets the technical diagrams/instructions for assembly of products.

You will be mainly accountable for:

Safety

• Understands and follows plant safety and procedures.
• Avoids or prevents hazardous conditions from developing.
• Wear appropriate protective equipment as required, dress and conducts self in a safe manner.
• Keeps work area clean and orderly and maintains Lean 5S.
• Participates in plant safety objectives.
