Job summary

ITW Food Equipment Group is seeking a first shift Assembler for the Warewash manufacturing unit. The role involves assembling and repairing stainless-steel commercial models, using hand and power tools, fixtures and hoists to meet strict performance specs.

The position requires reading blueprints, following work instructions, and standing for long periods with occasional overtime. Daily responsibilities include packing and keeping a clean, safe workspace while supporting team goals.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or GED preferred.
  • Previous assembly experience preferred.
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Ability to use hand and power tools safely and efficiently.
  • Basic reading of blueprints and instructions to perform assembly in proper order.

Responsibilities

  • Assembles and repairs equipment according to instructions using hand tools, power tools and precision instruments.
  • Uses basic tools to fit and align parts, maintain close fits, seal for water and steam tight assemblies.
  • Reads process sheets, blueprints, and work instructions to determine methods and sequence of assembly operations.
  • Performs visual inspections of parts for defects related to fit, form or function.
  • Works in a team to meet weekly production schedules and productivity targets.
  • Assembles, packs and crates finished products and parts.

Job Description

This first shift Assembler position for the Warewash manufacturing business unit starts out at $19.36 an hour and is responsible for a range of assembly operations connected with main and final assembly, sub-assembly; packing, trouble shooting, repair and adjustment of stainless-steel commercial models to meet exacting operating performance. Units are built complete at a single workstation. These positions may require daily and/or weekend overtime to meet customer expectations. Utilizing hand tools, power tools, fixtures, hoists and work instructions, the Assembler will also use their combined knowledge of both mechanical technology and electrical components to complete production tasks.

  • Assembles and repairs equipment according to work instructions, blueprints, diagrams, and specifications using hand tools, power tools and precision instruments
  • Usage of basic hand and power tools to assist in fitting and aligning parts, maintain close bearing and sliding fits, seal for water and steam tight assemblies
  • Reads process sheets, blueprints, and work instructions to determine methods and sequence of assembly operations
  • Performs visual inspections of equipment parts for defects related to the fit, form or function
  • Works within a team environment to execute weekly production schedules that are measured for productivity
  • Demonstrates a high level of competency on assembling of machines
  • Assembles, packs and/or crates finished products and parts in a variety of crates or boxes
  • Perform responsibilities and tasks following quality and safety practices and procedures
  • Accepts responsibility for all housekeeping protocols and reporting any inventory concerns to supervisor
  • Adhere to all plant rules and maintain proper attendance standards according to company policy
  • Work and communicate well with others in a cross-functional team environment
  • Daily attendance is an essential function.

Minimum Qualifications
  • High School diploma or GED preferred
  • Previous assembly experience preferred
  • Previous experience working in a manufacturing environment preferred
  • Ability to use hand and power tools, safely and efficiently
  • Demonstrate basic proficiency in reading and understanding blueprints and instructions to perform assembly in proper order and sequence
  • Ability to physically perform (stand, pivot, lean, stoop, squat, lift up to 50 pounds) as required
  • Prolonged periods of standing/sitting and performing repetitive tasks
  • Periods of working in hot/cold manufacturing environment
Compensation Information

Eff 9/1/2026 Starting pay $19.36/hour. Tops out at $24.20/hour after 6 months.
